Public Health West Midlands and NHS are working with local community groups to make sure clear messages about Covid vaccine are getting to the general public.
Covid vaccine is not a chargeable vaccine and at no point will giving your bank details or card payment details secure your spot.
Make sure site is genuine, if concerned or you have any other questions contact Public Health England or nhs.uk
Know that scams are around but the NHS and Public Health England do use various contacts to get in touch with people next in line for the vaccine. They know people have concerns regarding the vaccine and are there to help reassure and talk over any myths you have heard that concern you. There is a lot of information available on both sites.
The vaccine is just one step forward to life getting back to some kind of normality which is fantastic but remember although a lot of our older community have been vaccinated, it takes a few weeks for those antibodies to form in their bodies, we still need to follow covid prevention measure's: Wash hand, wear masks and keep our distance and no face to face parties for now. We still need to protect the community around us and our families.
For those who have had the vaccine that's great, why not share your news with your peers and family, it may encourage other who are worried to have it to, when they are called. You could even put a boarder sticker on your profile picture.
With the roll out of the Covid-19 vaccine will underway, thousands of people in Wolverhampton are receiving the life-saving jab every week.
Disappointingly, however, there have been reports of people receiving suspicious calls and text messages offering the Covid-19 vaccination, and asking people for their bank details (see picture). People are reminded that Covid-19 vaccines are only available on the NHS - and that the vaccine is free of charge. At no point will you be asked to pay.
Supt Simon Inglis of Wolverhampton Police said: “Much of the pandemic has brought out the very best in human nature, but occasionally we have seen the worst in human nature – scammers trying to extract money or personal information in this way is a depressing example of this. Please make sure you and your family don't fall victim to them.”
