Last Wednesday, our local MP, Clive Jones, visited us at the Well. It was a great opportunity to share how our project is run entirely by volunteers.

He took time to learn about what we do and recognised the positive impact we are having in the community, from increasing engagement and reducing isolation to help building stronger local networks.

We are grateful for his visit and support!

An overflow of Grace

Last month, Wendy and Nigel received the Civic Award by the Wokingham Town Council, but were unable to attend the ceremony. We thought the moment had passed — yet God had something even more beautiful prepared.

This morning, we were grateful that the Town Mayor, Councillor Louise Timlin came to our Church during The WELL programme to present the award to them in person.

The Mayor took time to understand the heart and vision behind The WELL, spoke with volunteers and participants, listened to their stories firsthand. She also visited the Crafting Smile, a crochet group by Hong Kong Ladies, and brought into The WELL last year, affirmed the joy and care it brings to the community.

It is a great encouragement to the whole team, and the recognition particularly to Wendy and Nigel, for their continuous devotion in serving the community over the years, you are well deserved.

We are excited!
Nigel and Wendy were awarded with the Wokingham Town Civic Awards for all their work have done and continue to do in the town community, including of leading The WELL at our Church. You are well deserved the award, and thanks June for the citation in the ceremony.
As Nigel and Wendy cannot attend the ceremony in person tonight, Town Mayor has arranged to present the awards to them at The WELL later in February. Stay tune!
