Now, the striking wouldn't have won a competition but it did more importantly win everyone's heart, emotions and a round of applause. This was the first Sunday in Six years a band of Send bells ringers rang at St Mary's. It was our Harvest festival Service and what a wonderful start it was to see and hear our bells being rung again. A very emotional morning for some of us. Thank you to John Young tower captain at Ockham who has patiently, carefully and lovingly taught our new Send Bell ringers. 🔔

The growing of a Sunflower from Mothering Sunday to Harvest Festival! 🌻

Remember the sunflower seeds we gave out on Mothering Sunday? 💛 It’s been lovely to watch them grow over the months, and now it’s time to celebrate Harvest!
Our sunflower variety was ‘Beaches Mix’ (Helianthus debilis), also known as Beach, Cucumber Leaf or Dune Sunflower. 🌻 Thank you, Linda, for sourcing these lovely seeds!
🌻 Help us decorate our church for Harvest!
This Saturday, 10th October, at 2pm, we’ll be decorating the church and churchyard ready for our Harvest Festival. Everyone is welcome to come along and lend a hand!
If you’ve grown a sunflower from one of our church seeds, please do bring it along if it’s still looking good (nothing too big, please!). Any other spare flowers or suitable decorations would also be very welcome.
Harvest donations will be collected too for the Foodbank. You can bring packets, tins and bottles to contribute to our Harvest collection, but please no perishable items.
⛪ Join us for Harvest Festival!
📅 Sunday 11th October
🕥 10:30am – Harvest Festival service in church
🍽️ Followed by a bring-and-share lunch in the Church Rooms.
Whether you can help with the decorating on Saturday or join us on Sunday, we’d love to see you!
Please see the attached details for more information. 🌻💛
