Come and join us Saturday 12th September!

We’ll be taking part in both Heritage Open Day and the Wivenhoe Music Trail, with two special performances at St Mary’s Church.

11.00am–12.00pm — Millfields Primary School will be performing in the church.

4.00–4.30pm — John Dowden will perform a short organ concert.

Admission is free, but there will be an opportunity to make a donation towards the St Mary’s Roof Appeal.

We’d love to see you there — come along, enjoy the music and support our historic church!

A 'thank you' fish and chip supper was enjoyed this evening by our children & youth team. We are grateful for the work they do for our church and community. 🙏🏻It was also a goodbye to one of our leaders, Cora who is sadly leaving the team. We wish her well for the future and are so grateful for the 5 years she has dedicated to our church. ⛪️

Join us at St Mary's Church, Wivenhoe, this Friday, 24 July at 7.30pm for a special performance by Cantus Quintus.

Enjoy the beautiful combination of expressive voices and the rich sound of viols as this talented vocal and viol consort from Amsterdam performs a programme of 17th-century English madrigals and consort music, featuring works by Byrd, Gibbons, Jenkins and Purcell.

A lovely afternoon was spent learning lots about our beautiful Wivenhoe Park and its Trees. Lots of fascinating facts, history and interesting stories were shared by Head gardener Mike. Ending with drinks at Wivenhoe House Hotel.

Exciting news! Our Sponsor a Roof Tile campaign is now underway.

For just £5, you can sponsor a roof tile and help us reach our £300,000 Roof Appeal target to preserve St Mary's Wivenhoe for future generations.

We will have a stall at some wonderful community events this coming weekend;

Friday: Broomgrove Summer Fair
Saturday: Wivenhoe Regatta, outside the Trinity House garden gate

Can't make it? You can also sponsor a tile after the Sunday morning service every week.

Teenagers at St Mary’s boost numbers for confirmation

All but one of this year’s Confirmation candidates in Wivenhoe are younger than 18. Several young members of St Mary’s youth group The Way came forward to be confirmed by Bishop Roger, Bishop of Colchester.

Almost every other year we invite the Bishop to preside at Confirmation and this time that will be on Sunday 5 July at 11.00am at St Mary’s.

The Rt Revd Roger Morris, Bishop of Colchester, will preach and lead the service to which everyone is invited. Give your support by your presence and prayer to our church members who will be confirmed.
