My recent post re weekly activities in the Community Room, to the rear of Withernsea Methodist Church, may have an error. The ‘Yell and Natter’ group is between 9.00 and 11.00 on Fridays in term time, and NOT 1.00 to 3.00. Apologies - Gordon.

I look forward to welcoming you to church in the morning, if you feel it is safe for you to make the journey in these treacherous conditions. In the light of the tragedy of the last 48hrs I have made changes to our morning worship. I shall lead a quiet, prayerful and reflective service as we open our doors to the wider community as they come to grieve the loss of the lives at sea on Friday. Several people I have spoken to, at our church this morning and who I have met along the sea front, have expressed a wish to come and gather with us. The Covenant Service and Holy Communion will be moved to a later date, probably February 8th when I shall be with you again.
Please share this as you wish, maybe with those who would not receive this email.

Organ Recital information:

On Saturday, 18th October, the Hull and East Riding Organ Group, (HEROG,) will be coming to play the organ at Withernsea Methodist Church, from 1.15 to approximately 3.30.

It is a 'low key' affair, not a recital as such, where members take it in turns to play/sample the organ to their hearts content. Any member of the public is very welcome to attend, where we already know that some of the church Congregation are interested in coming, as are some members from the Withernsea Electronic Organ Society. Do please come along and listen to this lovely organ being played, in a relaxed atmosphere.

There is no charge for entry, where a welcome cup of tea will also be available in the church hall, but donations are very welcome

The music is usually fairly classically-based, but bearing mind the nature of the 'audience,' we should be able to provide more in the way of modern, more laid back, to strike a balance.
