Object of the week(seen in a church in Suffolk over the weekend). It’s called a ‘hudd’ and was used in the 18th century for the priest to stand in when conducting graveside services in wet weather. Fascinating. Never seen one before.

Sarah Cassell will be giving an illustrated talk on Angel Roofs on Saturday 22 August at 7.30pm with refreshments afterwards. Suggested donation £10 in aid of the work to conserve the church building. Here are two of the angels looking down on our nave.
