✨ Celebrating Our Centenary – All Kinds of Catholic Podcast ✨

As part of our Centenary celebrations, we were delighted to collaborate with Theresa Alessandro, host of the All Kinds of Catholic podcast, to share the story of St Peter’s.

In this inspiring episode (released 10th June), parishioners Virginia, Patrick, Oscar and Lesley reflect on their faith journeys—how their faith has been both nurtured and challenged, and how it shapes their lives today. They also share how the witness of the Wi******er Martyrs continues to inspire our community.

Their stories are a powerful reminder of the warmth, diversity and living faith that make St Peter’s truly “A Place for All.”

🎧 We’d love you to listen and share: allkindsofcatholic.substack.com/p/106-a-place-for-all-100years-of

Theresa Alessandro talks to 'all kinds of ' Catholic people about how they live their faith in today's world. Join us to hear stories, experiences and perspectives that will encourage, and maybe challenge, you. Click to read All Kinds of Catholic, a Substack publication.

💛 A Beautiful Celebration of Corpus Christi at St Peter’s 💛

What a grace-filled and joyful celebration we shared at St Peter’s for the feast of Corpus Christi at our Family Mass. It was wonderful to see parishioners of all ages gathered together in faith and devotion.

Following Mass, we processed in prayer and song, making our way out along St Peter Street — a gentle public witness to our belief in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.

A particularly moving moment was seeing our children lovingly sprinkle the pathway with freshly dried rose petals 🌹 — a simple yet deeply meaningful act of reverence, preparing a path for the Lord.

It was a beautiful expression of our parish life: prayerful, united, and filled with quiet joy. Thank you to all who prepared the flowers, supported the children, and helped make the celebration so special.

May we carry the spirit of this day into our daily lives, remembering that Christ is always with us, walking at our side. ✨️

O Sacrament Most Holy, O Sacrament Divine,
All praise and all thanksgiving be every moment Thine.

✨ A Day of Joy, Faith and Celebration at Wi******er Cathedral ✨ Saturday 6 June 2026

Many who filled the Cathedral for last Saturday's morning (quarterly) Mass — with standing room only — returned in the evening for a moment of great pride and joy, as Fr Mark Hogan, our Parish Priest, was installed as Ecumenical Canon of Wi******er Cathedral and a member of the Portsmouth Cathedral Chapter during Choral Evensong.

In the beauty and prayerfulness of the liturgy — enriched by sacred music and set before the High Altar — the deeds of appointment were proclaimed, marking a deeply moving and symbolic moment.

People of different traditions and communities stood together in faith, hope and mutual respect — a powerful expression of unity and a visible reminder that our calling is not only to believe, but to build bridges, fostering understanding across all.

More than a ceremony — a witness.
The heart of our mission: to show, through word and action, that faith is a force for unity, peace and hope in our world.

Fr Mark, we thank God for your faithful ministry, your leadership, and your generous heart. We are deeply proud to walk this journey with you.

🙏 Please keep Fr Mark in your prayers as he begins this new chapter.

A day filled with blessing. A future full of hope and joy.

Our Blessed Mother Mary 🙏

May has slipped away, but its echo still burns in our hearts—the echo of Mary. The month that crowned her with honour may be ending, yet her presence refuses to fade. In St Peter’s garden, her statue rises in quiet majesty, wrapped in a cascade of pink roses that seem almost to bow before her. It is as if creation itself knows who stands among the petals. 🥀🌹

And now, as we cross the threshold into June, let us not leave Mary behind.
Let her courage be our fire.
Let her faith be our anchor.
Let her motherly love be the light that carries us forward.

Next Sunday, the Corpus Christi procession will move through these very gardens—where Mary’s roses bloom and grace hangs in the air. Come and see it for yourself. Come walk the path where beauty, faith, and the Real Presence meet.

Mary, our Mother, stay with us as we step into this new month. 🌸✨

🙏🔥 Come, Holy Spirit! Celebrating Our Newly Confirmed 🔥🙏

What a powerful and joy-filled Pentecost it was at St Peter’s as our young people and adults received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Philip Egan.

We celebrate more than a moment—we celebrate lives being opened to the transforming power of the Holy Spirit.

Let us continue to hold our newly confirmed in prayer, that they may be strengthened in faith, set ablaze with courage, and filled with deep and lasting joy as they step forward as witnesses of Christ in the world.

This is not the end of a journey—but the beginning of something extraordinary. ✨

Come, Holy Spirit—guide them, inspire them, and lead them ever closer to the heart of Christ.

🙏 Please keep them in your prayers.

✨ One City. One Faith. One Spirit. ✨

On Sunday 24th May, St Peter’s was filled with joy and the presence of the Holy Spirit as we hosted the Churches Together in Wi******er Pentecost Ecumenical Service during our centenary year.

It was a real blessing to see churches and Christians from across the city come together as one, and to be so warmly welcomed by Fr Mark Hogan as a united fellowship. Leaders, ministers, and congregations stood side by side — a powerful witness to unity in Christ.

We were honoured to welcome Cllr Jamie Scott, the new Mayor of Wi******er, and his wife, alongside ministers from across the city.

🔥 This is the heart of Pentecost — the Spirit bringing people together, transforming lives, and sending us out in hope.

In a divided world, this was a beautiful sign: the Church united, the Spirit moving, hope alive.

As we continue our journey as A Place for All, we pray the Holy Spirit will keep igniting our hearts to share the love of Jesus across Wi******er.

✨ Because with God, there is always hope — and the best is yet to come.
