Today marks the Accession Day.

We pray for the King and for his Government, for the United Kingdom and for the Commonwealth.

O GOD, who providest for thy people by thy power, and rulest over them in love: Vouchsafe so to bless thy Servant our King, that under him this nation maybe wisely governed, and thy Church may serve thee in all godly quietness; and grant that he being devoted to thee with his whole heart, and persevering in good works unto the end, may, by thy guidance, come to thine everlasting kingdom; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Ghost, ever one God, world without end. Amen.

Last Sunday we said thank you Lucas, who spend the summer in our Parish as an intern, discerning his vocation to ordained ministry.

He was assisting Fr Dominik in his ministry supporting him in various administrative and pastoral duties.

As the summer came to an end Lucas will be going back to his University, but will continue to serve in our Parish on weekends, supporting our altar party.
We are grateful for all his hard work. We will hold Lucas in our prayers as he continues to discern his vocation to the sacred priesthood.

Last Sunday we were visited by +Kelly of Basingstoke who was the guest preacher at both of our morning services, 8am BCP Holy Communion and 9.30am Parish Eucharist celebrated by our Rector Fr Dominik.

It was her first visit in our Parish since she joined our Diocese 9 months ago. We pray for her ministry, for all ministering in the Diocese of Wi******er and for the unity of the Holy Church.

Thank you to everyone who supported our annual Fete on 27th June. The first Fete to raise founds for the Church organ took place in 1868. Every year on the last Saturday of June you can join us on the ancient grounds of the Hospital of St Cross and support mission of the Parish of St Faith at Cross Wi******er. This year we were joined by the Mayor of Wi******er Cllr Jamie Scott Wi******er City Council and Danny Chambers MP Danny Chambers MP🔸 . We are grateful to our sponsors Shentons Solicitors and Charters Estate Agents for continuous sponsorship. We thank everyone who volunteered and helped with organising our fete, and also who worked on the day. Every year we choose two different charities which we support. This year’s choice are Wi******er Hospice and Home Start Wi******er. Hope to see you next year!

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
(Galatians 3.26-27)

Our Parish is blessed beyond measure to see more and more people coming to Christ and making a decision to be baptised.
Today we joyfully celebrated the baptism of Mel, and we pray for her as she starts her Christian pilgrimage.

Next week we will witness Winnie’s baptism and further candidates are in the process of preparation.
