Encounter Vineyard

Encounter Vineyard A family friendly, all age vibrant church where anyone can encounter God, find freedom from the past, purpose for the present and hope for the future.

Encounter Vineyard has been our name since January 2023. There has been a church here for many years and more recently it has been known as Encounter Church, The Cotswold Christian Centre and then C3 Church Winchcombe. WHAT'S IN A NAME? So many people don't see that church is relevant to them today and so Encounter Vineyard we hope will be a place where you can encounter God first, not religion. A

place where all are welcome, and can experience Freedom from the past, Purpose for the present and a Hope for the future. That's it in a nutshell, but look at our website for our full vision statement. We want Encounter Vineyard to be relevant to our community and through God, to make a difference in the lives of those around us.

If you are a follower of Jesus and are not yet baptised, this may be your opportunity, so do please make contact with us and let us know.

We are now in our year long journey through the book of Mark and today Mark is bringing a message called ‘Why Healed People Never Stay the Same.’ In this message he is looking at how Jesus teaches, frees and heals with full authority and full vulnerability. He looks at how Jesus doesn’t just confront brokenness but He restores it.

We hope that you enjoy worshipping and celebrating with us today.

Welcome to Sunday Online at Encounter Vineyard this weekend.

As always, we are sending out our Sunday message, praying it serves you, encourages you, and helps you continue to find and follow Jesus in the everyday rhythms of life.

Last weekend we began our year long journey through the book of Mark. Over the coming months, we will be walking slowly and attentively through this remarkable fast paced account of Jesus’ life. We are praying it shapes us, challenge sus, and awakens us again to who Jesus is and all He calls us to. The chance not just to observe Jesus, but to respond to Him.

This weekend Mark shares the story of John the Baptist as John encourages others to get baptised so that they can get ready for Jesus. Mark will be exploring how we can stay grounded in a disorientated world.

Staring today, we are beginning a journey through the Gospel of Mark. Over the coming months, we will walk slowly and attentively through this remarkable account of Jesus’ life, allowing it to shape us, challenge us, and awaken us again to who He is. Mark’s Gospel is vivid, fast-moving, and deeply compelling; it invites us not just to observe Jesus, but to respond to Him.

At its heart, Mark is a call to action - a call to follow. Again and again, we see Jesus step into ordinary moments and transform them with the presence and power of God. And as we journey through this Gospel together, our prayer is simple: that we wouldn’t just learn more about Jesus, but that we would encounter Him afresh—and in doing so, become more like Him.

We hope that you enjoy worshipping and celebrating with us today.

It is an exciting journey that awaits us as we look at the life of Jesus, from beginning to end, and allow the lessons we embrace to shape and change us.

Happy Easter and welcome to Sunday Online at Encounter Vineyard. If you’re here for the first time, a warm welcome to you. We are thrilled that you have wanted to join us this weekend. If you are part of our regular extended family then welcome back!

Every year on Easter Sunday we celebrate with the World-Wide Church the Resurrection of Jesus Christ! The first Easter Sunday changed the world and we cannot wait to celebrate Easter with you today!

2,000 years ago Jesus walked the earth to know what it was like to be with us. He also knew what it would cost Him to save us … and yet He chose to do it anyway. Today, we celebrate His power over death with His resurrection and remember that because He lives, so can we!

Mark is speaking this weekend with a message that celebrates the decisive nature of Easter called ‘Hope to Hold on To.’

Thank you for choosing to be a part of our weekend celebration on what is one of the high points in the life of the church.

We hope that you enjoy worshipping and celebrating with us today.

Welcome to this weekend’s Sunday Online at Encounter Vineyard. We are so pleased that you’ve joined us and we hope that you enjoy being part of our online worshipping community.

For the past six weeks, we have found ourselves in the Season of Lent where we have been in our annual series ‘Awaken.’ Today marks the beginning of Holy Week and Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem two thousand years ago. It was a week when people made decisions to either cry out “hosanna” or “crucify him!”

In today’s message Mark is linking our ‘Awaken’ series to Palm Sunday and the beginning of Holy Week with a message called ‘The Triumphal Entry and Jesus’ Generosity.’

During the rest of the week, we remember both the death and the resurrection of Jesus Christ and how the first Easter changed the world. We can’t wait to celebrate these momentous events with you over the next seven days. If you want to know what is happening during Easter, do please look below or check out our Holy Week programme on the home page of our website: www.encountervineyrad.org.uk.

We pray that you are able to enjoy the experience of being part of our extended community and that you can encounter God’s transformative presence as we worship together today.

Welcome to this weekend’s Sunday Online at Encounter Vineyard. We are so pleased that you’ve joined us and we hope that you enjoy being part of our online worshipping community.

Today Mark continues our Awaken series by stepping into one of the most powerful and hope-filled moments in the Gospels - the raising of Lazarus. It’s a story that meets us in the tension between grief and glory, where Jesus stands before what seems final and speaks life. In a world that can sometimes feel heavy or uncertain, we’re reminded again that Jesus is not distant from our pain, but present within it and that His voice still calls things back to life.

We are also still carrying the momentum of Vision Sunday from a couple of weeks ago, where we reflected on being Formed by the Presence. It felt like a significant moment for us as a church family — remembering God’s faithfulness, realigning with our call to find and follow Jesus, and stepping forward again with faith that anything is possible with Him. If you haven’t yet heard the message, can we encourage you to do that. If you have, can we also encourage you to prayerfully consider your response as we move towards all the Lord has in store for us.

Thank you for being part of this journey — for your faith, your prayers and your wholehearted commitment to all that God is doing among us.

Last weekend we had our Annual Vision Sunday where we were looking back and giving thanks for all that we have seen the Lord doing here at Encounter Vineyard over the last seven years, as well as looking forwards and highlighting what we sense the Lord is calling us to ‘lean into’ in the coming year.

If you haven’t yet had the chance, we would love you to listen to last weekend’s message from Mark. Can we encourage you to pray about how we can respond to the opportunities and challenges that are before us. You will find response details below.

Today Mark is speaking again in our Awaken series and brings the message ‘Only Jesus Satisfies Thirsty Hearts’, as he continues to encourage us to step into all that the Lord has in store for us.
