The Parish of Winchcombe comprises of Christ Church, Gretton; St. Peter's, Winchcombe. Service times for these churches are published weekly on Facebook and on our website. Our Parish Vision can be summarised as ‘Growing in God, Growing the Family of God‘. This includes our desire to help people learn about and deepen their faith in order to help bring that faith to others in the wider community.

We are committed to making more of the opportunities we have for mission and in particular developing outreach to children, young people, and families.

Thanks to all who came to the pet service today - and to their well behaved owners! It was a delight to see so many dogs. It wasn’t just about dogs though, Lisa helped us to (try to) appreciate all types of pets, including those that some of us would rather not think about 🐀.
It was good to acknowledge the role our pets play in not just our lives, but the lives of others who we know. Pets truly are a gift from God and we are thankful for all that they do for us 🙏

Calling all pets and well behaved owners. Don’t forget it’s our Pet Service tomorrow morning - 10.30 am at St. Peter’s. Everyone is welcome to join us as we celebrate our wonderful pets, all that they are and all that they do for us. Feel free to bring your furry friend along with you, or if that might prove difficult then a photograph of them, or one of their favourite toys would work too. Last year’s service was well attended BUT mainly by dogs. Let’s see which other of God’s creatures we can welcome through our doors this year.

Spend 15 minutes in a green space, such as one of our churchyards, counting the butterflies you see and report it using the Butterfly Conservation app. Together we can help them monitor the health of Britain's butterfly population! What an emotional weekend as we said ‘Farewell’ to James, our Director of Music. Sadly he’s only been with us for just over 18 months but is moving to pastures new due to Pippa’s fantastic new job in Norfolk ☹️
Saturday saw the start of the goodbyes with a Choir BBQ and gift presentation at the Rectory and then on Sunday another presentation and a ‘bring and share lunch’ followed the morning service at which James was interviewed about his favourite musical tracks.
He will be sadly missed for everything he has done and brought to us during his short tenure here. His infectious energy and smile will never be forgotten. We wish him and his family well in their next chapter……

(Thanks to all who helped to make the weekend such a success, but especially to Gaye Kimber and the team who dealt with all the food on Sunday and ensured that the lunch worked well.)
