The Welcome Team at St Mary's Church, Sturminster Marshall, invite you to pop in during its Open Weekend on 1st and 2nd August, to see the wonderful new facilities and flexible space that have been created, now the building work for Project Welcome is completed.
You can have a peek at the fully accessible WC and see the beautiful oak kitchen servery, complementing the existing interior.
Our Vicar, Reverend Jane, will be giving guided tours of the church on the hour, every hour.
You can also see how our new tables and chairs enable us to create a lovely sociable café style area, where you can enjoy free refreshments which will be available throughout the Open Weekend.
We will be serving quality filter coffee or tea and nibbles, ranging from home-made shortbread, to savoury bites, to cakes or scones, depending on the time of day.
There will be people on hand, to tell you more about our hopes and plans, to offer more hospitality, groups and activities, to support the wellbeing of the whole community of Sturminster Marshall, using our new facilities. We will be developing community activities, to support local people, especially those of us struggling with any of life's challenges. These will be for the entire community, whether you are Christian, have a different faith or no faith.
We would also like to hear from you what additional support or services you would find helpful or believe are needed in the village.
The church will be open for visitors from 10am-2pm Saturday and 10.30am-2pm Sunday.
