The Lantern Church Merley

The Lantern Church Merley The Lantern is a lively Anglican church (part of the Canford Magna Team), just south of Wimborne Minster, Dorset. and we pray will continue, into the future.

Right from the beginning in 1976 the lantern has been “buzzing”. Literally thousands of children and teenagers have heard about God through the youth work, and countless folks have come closer to God through great services, great people and the blessings from our great God. The ripples from this community of faith keep flowing out, and we pray will continue, into the future.

A quick update from Mike as we head into September!

The countdown is officially on. This Sunday, 6 September, kicks off the Global Week of Prayer.

We don't need a special building or a physical room to make an impact - we are activating prayer right where we live, work, and study.

We are thrilled to be hosting indie-folk husband and wife duo 'Our Atlantic Roots' for an evening of acoustic guitar led, hope-filled songs that uplift and encourage on Thursday 3 September, 7-10pm.

In recent years, the duo have had playlisting success with millions of streams under their belts, BBC Radio 2 airplay, Songs of Praise, regular BBC Introducing features, TV appearances and a very full tour calendar!

Here at The Lantern, we want to help you dive deeper. While we are preparing our hearts to pray right from our own homes, we will also have multiple opportunities to come together and pray as a church family throughout the week.

We want to invite everyone at The Lantern to get fully involved! We are opening up The Lantern Hub with three distinct opportunities to come together daily:
7am - Morning Prayer (30 mins)
12pm Midday Prayer & Communion (45-60 mins)
7pm - Evening Prayer & Sung Worship (1 hour)

Special Highlights:
Half-Night of Prayer: Friday 11 September (7pm-midnight)
Families Prayer Room: Available throughout the week for parents and children
