Emily - Burial ground consultant

I am a Burial Ground Consultant, bringing experience in client care and supporting positive client experiences.

I particularly enjoy my time at Hinton Park Woodland Burial Ground, where no two days are ever the same, which makes the role both engaging and rewarding.

Outside of work, I love walking and really value the peace and beauty of the countryside.

I am primarily based at Hinton Park, but can been supporting the grounds team at Poole and Wimborne on some occasions.

Community spaces matter - and together, we can help them thrive.

We were delighted to present a £1,000 donation to The Allendale Community Centre, supporting their toilet refurbishment project and helping to improve facilities for the many people who rely on this important local hub.

As a centre at the heart of the community, The Allendale hosts a wide variety of events, groups and activities, bringing people together and providing a welcoming space for all ages.

This refurbishment will ensure the facilities are fit for the future, improving accessibility and comfort for everyone who visits.

The donation was presented by Elisa and Karen t from Poole & Wimborne. They are pictured here with Michelle from The Allendale Community Centre, alongside two trustees who are helping to lead this important project.

Supporting initiatives like this is incredibly important to us. We see first-hand how vital community spaces are in creating connection, support and wellbeing, and we are proud to contribute to projects that make a real difference locally.

🌳 Tree Feature: Field Maple 🌳

The Field Maple (Acer campestre) is the UK’s only native maple, and a lovely addition to our landscape throughout the seasons 🍃

Recognisable by its small, lobed leaves, field maple brings fresh green tones in spring and summer, before turning beautiful shades of golden yellow in autumn 🍂

In spring, it produces subtle flowers that are valuable for pollinators, while its winged seeds (known as ‘keys’) provide food for wildlife later in the year 🐝

A hardy and adaptable tree, field maple thrives in a range of conditions and supports biodiversity across our grounds, from insects to birds 🌿

Jo - Funeral & Memorial consultant

I have always had a deep passion for supporting and meeting people in their time of need. You only get one chance to deliver a funeral, and I find it a real honour to take time with a family to get to know their loved one and to support them to deliver a fitting celebration in their memory.

My aim is to take as much of the stress out of arranging a funeral for the family as possible, whilst being empathetic to the grief they are living with.

"Grief is like glitter, even months and years later you will still find it tucked in corners. It will always be there, somewhere."

I am a devoted Mum and Wife. In my spare time, I love nothing better than spending time with my family, walking by the sea and singing in a local choir.

I usually work at Hinton park, but occasionally provide cover at Poole & Wimborne when needed.

Karen - Burial ground consultant

I am a Burial Ground Consultant, and I bring a thoughtful and personal touch to my role, shaped in part by my previous experience as a florist. My work offers a unique balance of indoor and outdoor responsibilities, and no two days are ever the same.

I really value the diversity my job provides, especially as it changes with the seasons.

Outside of work, I enjoy line dancing and listening to modern country music, interests that reflect my lively and grounded personality.

I am primarily based at Hinton Park, but can often be seen supporting the grounds team at Poole & Wimborne.

🌾 Scythe Cutting the Meadows 🌾

📍 Poole & Wimborne Woodland Burial Ground

We’re bringing back traditional hay making this summer, and you’re invited to be part of it!

Join our sheep farmer and grounds team over a few dry days in mid to late June and July as we cut the meadows by hand using scythes, just as it has been done for generations.

This is a wonderful opportunity to:

✅ Learn a traditional rural skill

✅ Support wildlife-friendly meadow management

✅ Spend time outdoors in a peaceful setting

The hay we cut will be dried, stacked into traditional ricks, and stored as feed for our sheep during the winter months.
