A historic Unitarian Chapel in Styal, Cheshire. The Chapel has existed since 1823.

The original Trust Deed states it is for the "The worship of God; and the furtherance of Christian life; free from the fetters of any written and unwritten; declaration of doctrine". Today, in the 21st Century context, Unitarians welcome all who wish to worship with an open and enquiring mind. The Chapel's tradition is rooted in liberal Christianity but we do not insist that everyone should have e

xactly the same beliefs. Today, our search for spiritual, ethical or religious "truth" may also draw on wisdom from other religions, philosophies and approaches to life. Our focus is on how we live our lives (deeds) rather than beliefs (creeds). We are a member of the General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches and of Churches Together In Wilmslow.

This is a family friendly service complete with mince pies! No heavy sermon, just lots of singing and a great way to get into the Christmas spirit!

It's our Carols by Candlelight service on Sunday 21 December at 18.00. This is a family service and all our welcome. There will be a lot of traditional carols and Christmas stories. Please get there early to get a seat!

It's our Harvest Service tomorrow on Sunday 5 October at 15:00. We will be collecting food for a local food bank. Please help us by donating at the service. Tins, dried goods, packets... things with a long use by date are very welcome please.

Quarry Bank Mill is open for with free entry for Heritage Open Days this weekend, so if you are coming to visit why not include Norcliffe Chapel? We will be open on Saturday afternoon, where you can see inside our lovely chapel, learn about our history, understand our relationship with the Greg family, and find out about its place in village life over the years. Here's hoping for good weather!

On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September Quarry Bank is taking part in England’s largest festival of history and culture, open days.

Dear friends.

It is with great sadness that we at Norcliffe Chapel, Styal, have to announce the recent passing of our much loved Lay Minister in Charge, Len Elias, after a short illness.

Len contributed so much to our Chapel, and made many friends along the way.

Our thoughts and prayers are now with his wife, Sue and their family.

A service in celebration of his life will be held at Dean Row Unitarian Chapel on Friday, 23rd May, at 1.30 p.m. for those wishing to attend.

Please let our Chapel Secretary know if you are intending to do so for catering purposes. Thank you.
