This morning our MP Alex Burghart visited us at St James along with other clergy and lay ministers from within his constituency (Brentwood & Ongar.) He listened to our concerns about the wealth gap growing wider; to concerns around the bureaucracy surrounding heritage funding for church buildings and volunteer applications.
Here in the Parish of High Ongar we partner with many charities and organisations in an attempt to help support the least fortunate in our society, but what else could we as church be doing? And what else do you want government to be doing? You tell us, we’ll tell him!
