🎶 Restoring the Glass: Raising the Song 🎶

Join us for a special evening of music at St Mary's Church, Wigton on Saturday 3 October 2026 at 7.30pm.

Herdwyck Consort, together with David T. Shingler (organ and piano), will present a wonderful programme of music spanning the centuries, from Byrd to The Beatles, in support of St Mary's Windows Appeal.

Come and enjoy an evening of beautiful choral music while helping to preserve and restore the church's stained glass windows for future generations.

🌸 Patronal Festival at St Mary's Church - Tomorrow 🌸

Join us tomorrow as we celebrate our Patronal Festival, giving thanks for the life of our church community and the example of St Mary.

Our services will be:
⛪ 8.00am – Holy Communion
⛪ 9.30am – Parish Eucharist, including our Sunday School Prizegiving, when books will be presented to children in recognition of their commitment and participation throughout the year.
⛪ 6.30pm – Choral Evensong, sung by our church choir.

Whether you're a regular member of the congregation or visiting for the first time, you'll receive a warm welcome.

We hope to see you there!

Uniform Donations Needed

Have you got any old uniforms that are no longer needed?

There is now a collection box in the church porch where unwanted uniforms can be donated. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated and will be put to good use.

🎶 A Night of Iconic Songs and Memories at St Mary's! 🎶

We're delighted to welcome Logan Paul Murphy Music to St Mary's Church, Wigton on Friday 23 October 2026 for what promises to be a fantastic evening of live music.

With one piano, one guitar and an incredible voice, Logan will take us on a musical journey through the songs of The Beatles, Elton John, Elvis, Billy Joel, the Bee Gees and more. A regular performer at Liverpool's famous Cavern Club and seen on Channel 4's The Piano, he'll have you singing along from the first note!

☕ Table Top Sale & Coffee Morning ☕

We're holding a Table Top Sale and Coffee Morning at St Mary's Church, Wigton, on Saturday 19th September, 10am-12 noon.

If you make crafts, bake cakes, create jewellery, or have other items to sell, why not book a table? Tables are £10 each, payable in advance.

Even if you're not selling, do come along for a browse, a coffee and a chat. Everyone is welcome.

Tomorrow, Friday 31 July, we look forward to welcoming members of the Morland Choristers' Camp to Choral Evensong at 5.45pm.

Please join us to hear the combined voices of this group of 9 - 17 year olds, who will have been on residential together in Morland, in the week leading up to this service.

At the weekend, The Orrishmere Singers will return to the Cathedral to complete their residency here. They will sing at our Saturday Evensong (3pm), Sunday Eucharist (10.30am) and Sunday Evensong (3pm).

All are welcome at these services, and no booking is required.

Members of St Mary's Church Choir were delighted to join Wetheral Church Choir for the new Bishop of Penrith’s welcome service. It was a wonderful occasion, bringing together people from churches throughout the diocese to celebrate, worship and pray for Bishop Michael as he begins this new ministry.

We were honoured to contribute to the music for the service and to be part of such a joyful and uplifting occasion 🎶
