Time to focus in.

Leadership Lesson…

We cannot please everyone. We should not aim to please everyone … only One.

Our best leaders lose respect for us when we people-please because it shows a lack of conviction or courage. Our challengers or problem-people enjoy it when we try to placate them. It’s a lose lose situation.

Phil Dooley described leadership as: “Disappointing at least person in the room”. That’s true. That’s not our intent but it’s usually the result of a good decision made.

Galatians 1 - Paul says that if he were here to please people then he wouldn’t choose to be a leader. That’s true. There’s no way to please people in a role that requires us to do God’s Will.

Pleasing God is the goal.
Pleasing God is the job.
Pleasing God is the only thing that’s pleasing to God.
