We’re still thinking about what a special evening this was.

Thank you again to Hebble, everyone who came along, and everyone who helped make the evening happen. Your support also helped raise valuable funds for St Cuthbert’s and for the work of keeping this beautiful little church cared for and active.

We loved seeing St Cuthbert’s filled with live music, and we’d very much like this to be the start of more evenings like it.

✨ WAS IT ALL A DREAM? ✨

Last night, St Cuthbert’s was transformed.

Candlelight, a packed little church, and Hebble filling the space with songs, tunes and harmony — it already feels a little unreal.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, supported the evening, bought a drink, helped behind the scenes and made it feel so special.

And most importantly, the evening also raised a fantastic amount of money for St Cuthbert’s Church, helping us continue to care for this beautiful building and keep bringing events like this to Kildale. We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who played a part in that.

And we’re not quite done yet…

With Faith in the North – I just got recognised as one of their top fans! 🎉

🎉 A little Facebook milestone for St Cuthbert’s!

We’re delighted to have earned a Top Fan badge from Faith in the North here on Facebook — a lovely little recognition of how much we enjoy following, sharing and supporting the work happening across churches and communities in the North.

It feels especially timely after the fantastic Pilgrim Places event at Manchester Cathedral this week, which brought together people who care about churches as places of welcome, pilgrimage, heritage and community.

We came away encouraged by the conversations, ideas and energy around how churches can continue to be open, useful and meaningful places for both local people and visitors.

⛪🥾 ST CUTHBERT’S ON PILGRIMAGE… TO MANCHESTER!

Members of our team recently travelled to Manchester Cathedral to attend the Faith in the North – Pilgrim Places event, spending the day learning, sharing experiences and exploring ideas about the future of churches as places of pilgrimage.

It was a valuable opportunity to meet people from other churches and communities, hear about different approaches to welcoming pilgrims and visitors, and think about how we can continue developing St Cuthbert’s, Kildale as a Pilgrim Place.

The programme also included a guest contribution from the Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell, alongside plenty of discussion about pilgrimage, hospitality, heritage, faith and the role our churches can play in their communities.

We came home with lots of ideas and inspiration — particularly around how St Cuthbert’s can offer a warm welcome to walkers, cyclists, visitors and pilgrims, while remaining a place of worship, reflection and community.

We’re excited to see where the next chapter might take us.

A big thank you to everyone involved in organising such an interesting and thought-provoking day.
