Sending prayers and good wishes to all starting school, moving school and those going to college or University.
But this evening I pray for our over 50s seeking education, friendship and knowledge via the U3A. From courses including creative Writing to lectures on history. Days out, walking groups, domino's or history the U3A has an abundance of courses. I get my bias. My Mum Cynthia runs a creative Writing group in Whitby... Every session you are given a theme and you share the Writing with the group. As it's a every 2 week group, members have been meeting at the Wednesday not in class at Penny Hedge. There is amazing interaction and a sense of group. Tomorrow is registering day 10 tll 13.00.. want to apply or meet Cynthia be at the Pavilion 10 till 1 x A big thank you to all keeping this amazing group going xx

Safeguarding: When Matt Knowles, who is a Synod Safeguarding officer, was with us recently to do DBS checks for some of the Elders, he emphasised the importance of Safeguarding, not just when dealing with children but also for anyone who may be visiting friends in Care Homes etc.

Matt has offered to come back and do DBS checks and also a Safeguarding Training session for the Elders and Members of Flowergate.

I will be offering some dates when Matt might come so keep an eye out for details on the Safeguarding Notice Board at the rear of the Sanctuary



The St John Ambulance team have asked us to offer a few of their small items for sale. These are on Display on the table in the Entrance. The prices for some of the items are : Bag £5, First Aid Manual £15 and most of the other small items are £3.The First Aid Cards are Free (2) It would be much appreciated if you can contribute to SJA by the purchase of any of these items.
