Good morning, all you beautiful people!

First off, a great big thank you to the Down and Outs for giving us all such a great night out last night. What a terrific band! And so kind and generous of them to give their time and talents to us like that.

And then a huge thank you too to everyone in the audience - all together your donations amounted to an amazing £930; after the deduction of expenses, you have contributed a wonderful £870 to our Chapel Renovation Fund!

Thank you all so much - and may the rest of your weekend be as much fun as last night. We are all so grateful for your continuing support and encouragement.

A great big thank-you to all who came along to our evening with Becky Foord last Friday. What a beautiful voice Becky has! But such a relaxed and friendly demeanour, letting us all enjoy joining in with favourite songs too. And her young daughter and niece delighted us with their performances as well.

We're thrilled to announce that after expenses and a donation to SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy) in memory of Becky's sister, Joanna, we have been able to add a stonking £905 to our Renovation Fund.

Thank you all so much for your generous donations, and thanks also to those who contributed to the fabulous supper and helped with the evening in any other way. Everyone had such a good time.

Don't miss our next event with the Down and Outs on Friday 14th in the Robinson Institute.

Tonight!
If you've forgotten to book, don't worry, you'll still be very welcome - just please give priority in the supper queue to those who have booked - there's usually plenty of food.
Or alternatively, come at 8 for the start of the concert.

We're looking forward to a great evening and hope to see you there!

We were thrilled to hear that the Open Gardens committee is donating £1000 from their amazing takings from the weekend to our Chapel Renovation Fund. Thank you so much!

Not only is this a significant boost to our fund, but it really demonstrates that the community is behind what we are wanting to do. That is important in itself, but it also helps with our applications to major trust funds, who really like to see this sort of thing.

So, congratulations to the committee for such a brilliant weekend, and an enormous thank you from the Chapel congregation for your very generous support!

At the Glaisdale Open Gardens weekend, 10 year old cousins, Fern Foster and Olivia Purtill made a range of delightful crafts and sold them to visitors at their GrannySue’s garden. They specifically wanted to raise funds for Glaisdale Head Chapel with which they have long, long family connections. They sold nearly all their stock on the Saturday, so had to set to and make some more that evening for the next day! In total (including the home made bread they baked and sold!) they raised a spectacular £140! Isn’t that absolutely amazing! Well done girls, everyone at the chapel is so proud of you and really grateful for your kind efforts! And well done GrannySue too!

This is our next fundraiser for our chapel refurb funds.
We’re not selling tickets (donations on the evening please) but ask that you let us know if you’re coming, together with any dietary restrictions, so we can organise catering. If you want to sit in a group with friends, let us know so we can reserve you a table. Looking forward to a fabulous summer evening of great food, good company and sublime music! Text numbers etc to Delia on 07919 096070.

Have you noticed when passing by Glaisdale Head Methodist Chapel that it is now the home for a community defibrillator! Generous donations from Whitby Lions, the Glaisdale Community Group, and Glaisdale WI have enabled the installation of this valuable emergency resource in the remote area of Glaisdale Dale. We’re grateful for the support of Hume Electrical Services of Whitby, who kindly installed the box, and Glaisdale Parish Council, who are going to manage the defibrillator along with the 2 others already in the village. Sincere thanks to Mark Hollingworth for volunteering to be the guardian, and of course to those individuals (you know who you are!) who spearheaded this campaign!

Ladies and gentlemen - our minds are well and truly blown.

We are beyond delighted to announce that the total raised from this year's 'little Plant Sale' (as planned by Pauline), came to an astonishing £2009.16!

We are grateful to each and every one of you who supported the event in any way. Every penny spent on plants or refreshments helps us towards our target of making the Chapel and Schoolroom into a more comfortable and welcoming space for community use. Thank you so much.

If you can recall the wonderful array of plants that was in the churchyard on the morning of Saturday 6th June, you might be interested to see below all that is left:

5 beef tomatoes
5 hypricums
2 h**e
1 gardeners delight tomato
2 moneymaker tomato
1 lemon balm
1 sad courgette
6 aloes (indoor)
and one plant I don't know the name of .... if anyone wants to give them a home.
