Join us in June for a sublime evening of some of the best jazz, by some very talented local musicians. Friday 19th June from 7.30 pm.
The Broadwood Band
These Jazz musicians can often be heard and seen at their regular venue Eighteen91 Whitby. Our line-up consists of Saxophonist / Flautist Stuart McDonald, Pianist Mike Conliffe, Saxophonist / Flautist Bob Butterfield, Double Bassist Phil Smith, Percussionist Lisa Oliver, Drummer Steve Cooper. They are continually involved in projects & performances near and far, it's an honour to be allowed to immerse themselves in the wonderful atmosphere that is St Matthews Church Grosmont. Our pianist Mike will be using the awesome Broadwood Grand Piano featured within the Church. Bob is the head of the Music Centre Whitby and has played many times at Grosmont leading the Big Band, Stuart and Mike are Leeds based we are so fortunate for their incredible musical input, Lisa trained as a Timpani Player The Royal College of Music, Phil Smith a well known teacher of Music, Steve Cooper session player his passion is Jazz.
