I would like the government to retract the guidance issued on 18 May that says amateur choirs can only rehearse indoors in groups of six. Step 3 of the roadmap should allow choirs of any size to rehearse indoors providing social distancing is maintained and COVID-secure measures are in place.

Many thanks to our Church Choir, Thurcroft Musical Theatre Group and all the other performers and audience who supported last nights Summer Concert. The retiring collection raised approximately £730 which with gift aid could rise to around £900! Even better, everyone seemed to have a great evening as well. Thank you.

This Saturday evening at Whiston Parish Church there is a Summer Concert, starting at 7.30pm.

The concert will feature the Choir of Whiston Parish Church, Thurcroft Musical Theatre Group, and instrumental and vocal solos and duets from local musicians, (and some from further afield).

The concert is free to attend, with a retiring collection with all proceeds going to the Church Heating Fund, to replace the boiler and associated pipework for which we need to raise an approximately £40,000.

Please share with friends and family, as it will be a wonderful evening of music featuring some talented performers, who are all giving their time freely to raise funds for this worthy cause.

Tom Service: I didn't think I liked its austerity, until the sound of a few choristers in Lincoln Cathedral created a minor musical miracle

First choir practice of the New Year tonight, nearly full attendance, and some excellent work on pieces by Thomas Hewitt Jones, Hector Berlioz, C.H.H. Parry, Philip Moore, Karl Jenkins and L.J. White.

Any non-choir members able to guess the pieces from the composers listed?
