The peal attempt on Saturday 13 June will mark 30 years since the treble and tenor bells were recast. These photos show both the old tenor being lowered and then leaving St Mary's through the churchyard, and the new tenor being cast and then hoisted up into it's new home at St Mary's.

Bell Ringing Peal Attempt Saturday 13 June 10 am - 1 pm

A group of ringers are planning to ring a peal to mark the 30th anniversary of the first peal on the rehung bells and recasting of the treble and tenor, and also to celebrate the golden wedding anniversaries of Andrew and Julie Haseldine (who rang peals with the local band in the 1970s) and Dorothy and Graham Clifton (Graham is a bellhanger at Whites). The peal will be 5040 Surprise Minor.

All things Windmill at St Mary's! An exhibition of photographs and the Schools Art Competition celebrating 50 years of the founding of the Wheatley Windmill Preservation Society 1976 - 2026.

If you pop into the church over the next couple of weeks you can't fail to notice lots of pictures of Wheatley Windmill. These have been submitted by local children - over 90 of them took part in the competition! Here are some of the entries. Winning entries will be posted later.

Do pop along to the church and have a look at the exhibition. It runs until 14th June. The last day coincides with the Windmill open day when the windmill will be open free of charge to the public from 2 pm till 6 pm.
