As Thy Kingdom Come begins this week, may we go forward full of hope, trusting that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, as we pray for more people to come to know the life and love of Jesus for themselves. 🕊️🕯️

Today we looked at prayer and gave out the 2026 Thy Kingdom Come books. And thought back over this initiative which is now ten years old.

Some photos at the 10 year anniversary of refurbishments which are ongoing at Good News Church

We cant show every photo here but plan a full display for the 90th anniversary in 2027 God willing.

Well facebook has reminded us that ten years ago today we shared the start of renovations at Good News Church .
See picture of the Chapel in 2016 stripped out ready for replastering.

The most recent work has been the Kitchen replacement in April after our 35 year old (but well used) kitchen became life expired. We are grateful for Storm Arwen grant funding from Electricity NW via Cumbria Community Foundation plus donations from members and friends.

The kitchen is pictured before and after and there are still some finishing touches to do. We will be cooking tonight at Pizza and Games night 5-7pm all welcome!.

So thanks be to God for all the work so far to improve the facilities at the church over recent years and we are thankful and grateful. All are welcome at our various activities www.goodnewschurch.co.uk come for a chat, Community, to explore faith or simply to be and to worship.

The kitchen work was done to a high standard and good price by Millfern Ltd. So thanks to Dean and the team.

Next, it is permanent accessible access and replacing the porch for wheelchair and buggy users to easily get in as we look forward to our 90th anniversary at Old Road in 2027.

Sunday 3rd May we looked at Psalm 24. Also heard back from church members who had attended the recent All aboard - Inclusively training for additional needs by Mark Arnold of Urban Saints.

Songs were -
I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene.
I see the King of Glory.
Great are you Lord.

Prayers were offered for a variety of people in need and situations, including praying for the Jewish community.

Finishing with refreshments and a shared meal.

All welcome Sundays 10.30am

Sundays 10 and 17th May we will be looking at Thy Kingdom Come prayer initiative.

Sunday 24th May we have an evening service instead of morning for Pentecost 6.30pm.
