Hi folk,
Apologies for the long spell of very limited access to the church. It is currently open for services at 11 am on sundays and 10 am on Wednesdays, but should resume its normal daytime everyday opening on 19th July.
Concerts already scheduled for this year are
Concerts in the West, Emma Halnan and the Eblana String Trio at 3 pm on Sunday 3rd October at £15, and the Trio Klein of violin, viola and cello with a classical repertoire on 21st November, at 3 pm at £15.
Tickets are available from [email protected]. children under 12 accompanied by an adult are free and students over 12 £5.
Tickets are also available from Broadway Stores nearer the time and at the door.

Concerts in the West are putting some of their concerts on line for you all to enjoy. The latest is found at https://youtu.be/Py8y_9QvqGs. We look forward to having their concerts back in the church next year, in the meantime for top quality music look into their website.

Real services have returned to St Laurence at 11 am on Sundays. Philip is taking said services with restricted communion, a said psalm with responses, and a good, but not too long, sermon. Our organist plays for us coming and going and during communion. Attendance has been good, but we can still just space out sufficiently. Suitably distanced social interaction takes place in the churchyard following the service instead of coffee.
The Parish is still collecting for the foodbank. Philip collects donations onThursdays. Direct financial contributions can be made on line. Telephone 07809905412 for details.

CONCERTS AT ST LAURENCE CHURCH BY CONCERTS IN THE WEST
Sadly the Ferio Saxophone Quartet in June has had to be cancelled. Hopefully we can rebook them for 2021. In the meantime musicians have been working hard to bring you music.

When visiting the church for private prayer, look at the board on the pew nearest the kitchenette. It is to record what we are all doing to care for God's Creation, based on the Lent booklet. There is a list of activities you might tick if you do them, and post it notes for something more original. Communicate and inspire!

The old phone collection is going quite well with about 6 so far. There are notes in the tower box in the children's corner to explain how to clear your old phone of data, or ring Sally Pinhey on 813307.

Eat nettles! The new spring nettles, free on your country walk are perfect just now. Just pick up the tops with gloves and cook them like spinach. They are good in a quiche too.
