📢 Correction: Free School Meals Information

We recently shared information about changes to Free School Meal eligibility. Unfortunately, the information provided to schools contained an error.

The correct information is:

🍽️ From 1 September 2026, all children whose parent or carer receives Universal Credit will be eligible for Free School Meals.

📝 Applications can be made under the new criteria from 1 June 2026.

There are two levels of eligibility:

✅ Targeted Free School Meals
For families on Universal Credit earning under £7,400 per year (or receiving certain qualifying benefits). This may also provide access to additional support such as Pupil Premium and the Holiday Activities & Food Programme.

✅ Expanded Free School Meals
For families on Universal Credit earning over £7,400 per year. This provides Free School Meals from 1 September 2026.

⚠️ Important: Families currently receiving Free School Meals should check whether they need to reapply to ensure meals continue from September 2026.

We apologise for the earlier confusion and thank everyone for their understanding.

There was so much joy at St Francis as we gathered to celebrate this special occasion together. Surrounded by friends, family, and church family, we witnessed a beautiful declaration of faith and God’s transforming love.
