Howlands Baptist Church Howlands Baptist Church is a friendly church serving the community of Howlands from its home at The Commons in Welwyn Garden City. Cost: £3.

As well as our Sunday service at 1030 we have lots of midweek activities:

Toddler group: Wednesdays (term time) 9.30am £1.50 per family. Fortnightly home groups - evening and afternoon sessions
Crafty coffee: Thursday morning, monthly. Chair-Based Exercise: 2.30pm Fridays - This class is designed for senior-citizens and those needing seated-support during exercise. Stay for refreshments and a cha

“My Husband has a life limiting illness. He was advised to take regular exercise but with consideration to his age & neuropathy. He cannot stand for long & suffers discomfort. He attends a chair based class.
His illness has also meant a reduced mental capacity, so cannot be left alone. As his carer I am wary of who I leave him with. Suzina was recommended by our local hospice as being knowledgeable on what exercise he could do and safe to leave him with. This has certainly been true for the 18 months that he has attended.
Suzina is a ball of energy, cheerful and positive. She has the attendees doing their exercises to safely push themselves if able to, ensuring everyone gets their best out of the class.
She clearly explains the benefit of each exercise & guides them through each one.
My Husband's balance, flexibility & strength have improved & Suzina is now encouraging him to attend a more advanced balance class.
I'm happy to leave him for the hour, knowing he is in safe hands”.
