We are privileged to share the below statement with everyone regarding the current vacant position of vicar in the benefice of St. Cuthberts Wells with St. Mary Magdalene Wookey Hole.

While we still have to wait a little longer before Rev. Sarah Cornick and her family will arrive and begin her new chapter with us, we thank everyone involved for their hard work and dedication in making this appointment but especially to Sarah for putting herself forward for selection and taking on this new beginning.

We hold Sarah, her family, Sarah's current church and any other candidates who weren't successful this time in our thoughts and prayers and look forward to new beginnings and all meeting up very soon. 🙏🙏

🎉🎉Sunday 19th July🎉🎉

Our Patronal Festival.

Come along and join in our service at 11am,

It is a combined Service with our Brothers and Sisters joining us from St. Cuthberts church along with the choir.

Once the service is finished we will be having a picnic outside on the church lawn (weather depending, if bad weather it will be inside) Please bring your own food and drink and enjoy spending time in everyone's company as one.

There are seats and tables available.

It doesn't matter if you don't usually come to Wookey Hole or St. Cuthberts, the main thing is that you are there and joining in with us.

We look forward to seeing a full, vibrant and inclusive church next Sunday.

What a week for FREE live music it's been at Wookey Hole.

Following on from the Wowfest midweek, today was the turn of Lucy White and 3 of her friends entertaining people again for NOTHING!!

Well done Lucy and crew, fabulous music/event as ever.

The hills aren't alive with music but St Mary Magdalene's in Wookey Hole certainly have been this week.

If you've not been, you've missed 2 great musical concerts.

There has been plenty of cake too!!

It's been such a cool & sociable week!!

WOW!!

What an evening last night.

Congratulations to the Haydn Jeugd Strijkorkest Orchestra from the Netherlands who performed in the church as part of the Wowfest.

Founded in 1989, the Haydn Youth String Orchestra is one of the leading youth string orchestras in the Netherlands. Bringing together talented string players aged 12–19, the orchestra is renowned for its high artistic standards and has performed extensively throughout Europe and beyond.

Under the Baton of Jan-Yep Nota they certainly didn't disappoint.

The programme had something for everyone and below is a list of what they played.

It was lovely to hear the brilliant music and see the church with so many people in it, all enjoying this FREE event.

This coming Sunday 7th June we will be welcoming Bishop Fiona (Bishop of Taunton) to our church and she'll be taking the service.

We look forward to seeing as many people as possible at the service (9.30am start) to welcome her.

Friday April 3rd at 2pm - "The Last Hour"

A tranquil and contemplative service. This gathering will focus on the crucifixion and passing of Jesus through moments of reflection and silent prayer.

Sunday April 5th at 9.30am - Easter Sunday

A Eucharist service for everyone of all ages to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, complete with Easter Lillie's in memory of loved ones no-longer with us.

Everyone is welcome to our church no matter your age, faith, you don't need to be "a local villager" you will always get a warm welcome whoever you are, please feel free to join us anytime and if you have any questions please send us a message via this page and we'll answer.

Join us to celebrate all things Mothering this coming Sunday, it's not just for ladies with children, we're fully inclusive and think outside the box!!

You could be a dog/cat mother, you could be an honoury mother to anyone and everyone, we'd like to celebrate all women/mothers.

Our service is at 9.30am (plenty of time to then get home again for your lunch!!)
