Akhand Dhun 2026
Annual Prayers for Success, Peace and Harmony

On Sunday 5 April, devotees from across the UK gathered at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Wellingborough, for the annual Akhand Dhun — a spiritually uplifting day of continuous prayer offered for success, peace, and harmony throughout the world.

The day commenced in the early hours with youths performing a mahapuja at 5.00am, inspired by the spiritual legacy of Brahmaswarup Yogiji Maharaj, before devotees arrived steadily from 7.00am to join the dhun.

Throughout the day, the mandir resonated with the rhythmic chanting of the Swaminarayan Mahamantra, as devotees offered prayers and performed pradakshinas at the Akshar Deri. Pujya Swamis joined devotees throughout the day.

This year's Akhand Dhun carried special significance as our community prepares to welcome His Holiness Mahant Swami Maharaj to the UK later this year, guided by the year's theme, 'Satsangnu Vatavaran Vadharvu', to nurture the spiritual environment around us.

A truly blessed and memorable day.

Shri Swaminarayan Jayanti & Shri Rama Navmi: Mahila Celebrations

On Sunday 29 March, mahilas from across Northamptonshire gathered at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Wellingborough, to joyfully celebrate the auspicious birth anniversaries of Bhagwan Shri Swaminarayan and Bhagwan Shri Rama.

A vibrant cultural programme with uplifting kirtans, heartfelt discourses, and inspiring dramas drew upon the divine childhood of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and the lives of three great female devotees — Shabri, Jivuba, and Jatanba.

Shabri's boundless patience, Jivuba's steadfast devotion, and Jatanba's unflinching faith – each offered a timeless reminder of the power of sincere love for God.

On Saturday 28 March, devotees gathered at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Wellingborough, to celebrate the auspicious Hindu festivals of Shri Swaminarayan Jayanti and Shri Rama Navmi with a special cultural programme, in the presence of Pujya Krishnaprem Swami and Pujya Gnankushal Swami.

Titled 'Naam Ratan', the programme explored four profound themes — Shakti, Bhakti, Mukti and Prapti — through the divine name of Bhagwan.

Through inspiring dramas, devotional dances, uplifting kirtans, and heartfelt reflections, the programme brought to life how Bhagwan's name carries the power to transform us, sustain our devotion through every circumstance, and guide us towards liberation — not only as a truth of the past, but as a living reality today.

Families from across Northamptonshire joined us for this special occasion — a wonderful expression of our community's love and devotion for Bhagwan Swaminarayan and Bhagwan Shri Ram.

From inspiring stories and a conversation with Mandy Young MBE, Deputy Lord Lieutenant, to yoga and meaningful reflections, the evening celebrated the strength, service, and spirit of the women in our community.

On Saturday 28 February, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Wellingborough, came alive with devotion and joy as the community gathered to celebrate the birth anniversary of Brahmaswarup Bhagatji Maharaj and the colourful Hindu festival of Holi.

Guided by the presence of Pujya Swamis, two special celebrations took place — each honouring the extraordinary life and legacy of one of our most beloved Gurus.

The evening reflected on Bhagatji Maharaj's deep devotion to his guru, Gunatitanand Swami, and his integrity, resilience, and lifelong dedication to pleasing the Guru. His life remains a timeless example of what it means to live in true surrender — so aligned with the Satpurush that every thought, word, and action reflects his love and grace.

In a wonderful first, one of the celebrations was held entirely in English — bringing these timeless teachings to life in a new and meaningful way.

Vasant Panchmi Celebrations

On Saturday 24 January, devotees gathered to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Vasant Panchmi and the birth anniversary of Brahmaswarup Shastriji Maharaj at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Wellingborough.

The sabha reflected on Shastriji Maharaj’s unwavering conviction in Akshar-Purushottam Upasana, his courage in establishing mandirs rooted in this siddhant, and his lifelong endurance in the face of opposition — all for the sake of Akshar-Purushottam.

Devotees also drew inspiration from the devoted lives of his haribhaktas, including Nirgun Swami, Mahapurush Swami, Maganbhai, and Harmanbhai, whose loyalty, sacrifice, and steadfast faith strengthened and supported this divine mission.

Through reflections and heartfelt tributes, the celebration left everyone inspired by Shastriji Maharaj’s spiritual vision, resilience, and profound bhakti — with a renewed resolve to uphold his upasana and live with the same faith and dedication.

This meaningful sabha, along with Jholi Utsav, was celebrated across the different age-specific groups, making the message relatable, inspiring, and transformative for all devotees.

The atmosphere was filled with joy as it was announced that Mahant Swami Maharaj will be visiting the UK & Europe this year for the opening of the Paris Mandir.
