Messy Adventure!
Set out on the speediest round-the-world trip ever, to celebrate the amazing international Messy Church community and to bring a little joy to the day. We set sail (virtually), took off (in our imaginations) and revved our (digital) engines for a whole day of Mess!

These hour-long videos (or less) are available for you or your Messy families to watch. Check out the playlist of videos to discover how we journeyed through the Bible with worship, storytelling, prayer, food for thought and all sorts of Messy fun. Grimshoe Benefice Messy Church update

Hi All,

I hope you and all your families are keeping safe and well during this difficult time of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Though schools are reopening for some children, many children remain learning at home and this can be a testing time for parents. Tammy Wright and I are looking at how best we can support you with some Messy Church type activities to offer some craft and other activities as a bot a variety for children and also to keep our Messy Church alive even though we’re unable to meet together.

Tammy has put together some activities based around the Feast of Pentecost and others will come over the next couple of weeks. Please get in touch with me by email – [email protected] - if you have any requests or ideas about how we can support/resource you better.

Every blessing

Joan

We love Messy Church and so will you!
Messy Church is fun way to learn about God for all the family.
We usually meet on Thursdays, 3 - 5 pm, during half terms in Weeting Village Hall.

Each Messy Church meeting has a particular theme based on the bible. At Messy Church we gather together for crafts and games, followed by a short story from the bible, a song and prayer. We then share a meal* together and finish by saying the Messy Grace together.

Messy Church is completely free and we do have a wide variety of activities that suit all ages and stages. You are free to move round these at your own child’s pace.

We would love to see you at one of our Messy Church events. Keep an eye on this page for more updates.

Messy Church is aimed at families and all children must be accompanied by adults. Whilst Messy Church is completely free any donations are greatly appreciated.

* Please notify us of any dietary requirements. Vegan options are available.

Promoting A Safer Church

The Church, in the course of its mission and action in the world, frequently engages with those in society who are vulnerable or who are young.

In our Benefice we take the need to safeguard both the young and vulnerable adults extremely seriously.

Messy Church is aimed at families and all children must be accompanied by adults.

The PCC’s of the Benefice of Grimshoe churches – St. Mary’s, Feltwell, St. James, Hockwold, St. Andrew’s, Northwold, St. Mary’s, Southery and St. Mary’s, Weeting are committed to maintaining a Safeguarding policy, in line with diocesan procedures and good practice and the House of Bishops’ Policy, Parish Safeguarding Handbook, Promoting a Safer Church. (2018)

The PCC’s review and endorse all safeguarding policies annually, at the first meeting of the new PCC, so that new members are aware of their responsibilities and affirm the Parish Policy on Safeguarding. The highest standards will be maintained in all the Church’s contacts with children, young people and vulnerable adults. Adult volunteers will be given appropriate support and opportunities for training.
The Parochial Church Councils acknowledge their responsibility for all work with children and vulnerable adults done in the name of the Church and requires all those engaged in such work to be properly appointed and supported in accordance with current good practice and guidelines issued through the Diocese of Ely.
Grimshoe Benefice has appointed, as our Parish Safeguarding Officer:
