Let’s be honest: church family is still family, and sometimes, families hurt each other.
Past disagreements and deep-seated hurts don't just vanish overnight. When we've been wronged, or when divisions run deep, choosing to bridge the gap goes against every human instinct we have. Reconciliation is heavy lifting.
But Ephesians 4:2 calls us to a radical standard:
📖 "Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love."
"Bearing with one another" isn't a passive phrase—it requires active, intentional humility. It means laying down our need to be right so that we can be restored. It is incredibly challenging, and if we rely only on our own strength, it often feels impossible.
But we aren't doing it alone.
For today’s BUC Prayer Plan, we are coming together to ask God for what we cannot manufacture ourselves: a true spirit of reconciliation and healing. We are praying that God will soften hearts, heal old wounds, and give us the courage to take the first step toward each other in humility. With His help, the walls of division can—and will—come down.
🙏 Today’s Prayer Focus:
Ask God to reveal any areas of pride holding you back from forgiving.
Pray for healing over past conversations that ended in hurt.
Seek His strength to be the one who initiates peace this week.
Take a moment to pause and pray with us today. If you feel comfortable, drop a "🙏" in the comments to let us know you're praying for unity alongside us.

Sermon illustrations. Sabbath provides opportunities for attending worship services where engaging sermons are delivered. Opening the Word of God and ministering to others in a privilege given to both lay clergy and pastors.

In this picture one of our senior pastors is delivering a short sermon to church retirees using an illustration of shoes. A thoroughly biblical message.

What sermon illustrations have you used recently?

BUC Prayer Plan 🙏✨
The 28-day countdown is officially on! As we step into the first week of the last month before Session, our focus turns to the teams managing the final details.
Let's lift up everyone involved in these last-minute preparations. We are praying for a powerful, final wave of unity and focus across all teams. Above all, we ask that humility be the key characteristic guiding every conversation, plan, and decision as we approach the finish line.
📖 Key Scripture:

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up." — James 4:10

Let us cover this final stretch in grace and shared purpose. Drop a 🙏 in the comments below to stand in prayer with us!

Just one month to go until the BUC Session! 🗓️
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." — Micah 6:8

The countdown is officially on. In exactly four weeks, we will be gathering for a pivotal time of Spirit-filled worship, meaningful reflection, missional decision-making,, and setting the course for our shared future as the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Our guiding theme, Walk, Love. Do., reflects the very heart of this verse. As the final operations and participant materials come together for the July Session , this scripture remains the foundation of our accountability frameworks. It is a clear call to walk humbly, lead with love, and do the essential work of servant leadership.

Looking forward to connecting and putting this calling into practice together.✨
