READ 🤓 I Pastor Angelo is the Head pastor of Hope UK Church Hertfordshire. His personal encounter with God happened way back in 1999 while he was in Singapore. During that time, he felt that he was wasting his life, without a sense of purpose and his life seemed to have no meaning at all. He cried to God in prayer for Him to send someone to help him change his life and God indeed answered his prayer. While their cargo ship was docked in Singapore as he was working as a seafarer, he met his wife for the first time. When he went back there a year later, he found out that his wife has accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Saviour and she invited him to Hope Church. This was the time when he totally surrendered his life to Jesus!
Pastor Angelo arrived in the United Kingdom in 2004 after his wife move here from Singapore. He attended Hope Church in London, where he started serving God and where his discipleship journey started. As a young christian, he was first mentored by Pastor Precious then followed by Pastor Dex, and Pastor Aaron who is another pastor from Hope London Central. As he matured in his christian walk through discipleship, he started to disciple new members of the church, too. When Pastor Angelo was asked how he describes himself as a mentor, he said, "Being a mentor means you have been given the opportunity to help nurture younger christians in their spiritual walk. He added that while mentoring others, he thinks that he is also growing as a mentor spiritually. As the saying goes, "you cannot give something, which you do not have".
In April 2025, Pastor Christie from Hope Singapore has ordained Pastor Angelo as the Pastor of Hope UK Church Hertfordshire.
When he was asked about the difference between his role as a pastor and as a mentor, his reply was "as a pastor, it is my responsibility to oversee the welfare and growth of the whole church so that we can move in one accord and as a mentor, I am accountable for the spiritual growth and maturity of my mentee. Also, I am responsible to build personal relationships with them". He also stated that throughout his Christian walk, he has mentored a lot of younger christians and witnessed how they matured spiritually and now he sees them all serving in the church.
Pastor Angelo said that he is pleased to see all the sacrifices he made in the past have bore fruits and made an impact in their lives.
As a Pastor and mentor, he wants to set an example for all the mighty men of God in Hertfordshire, to be a role model and encourage each and everyone to one day take up the challenge to also mentor younger believers and help them grow in their spiritual walk. Lastly, he wants to see Hope UK Church Hertfordshire to be a disciple-making church.
When Pastor Angelo was asked about how he envisions Hope UK Church Hertfordshire in the next 10 years, he said that his vision is to see every single member to be discipled and that the chain of discipleship will not be broken. He believes that everyone should have a mentor and that they will one day become mentors themselves.
