Today we celebrate Pentecost which is 50 days after Easter Sunday and commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles, empowering them to spread the teachings of Jesus. It is also often known as the birthday of the church.

The following announcement was made at our service this morning. This is great news and we look forward to welcoming Revd Joanna to Oxhey.

We are pleased to announce that the Revd Joanna Criscenti, currently Assistant Curate of The Dever Benefice in Wi******er Diocese, has been appointed as Vicar of the Parish of St Matthew, Oxhey.

This is subject to completion of the usual legal formalities after which further information will be announced.

Please remember Joanna and her daughters, Monica and Silvie, in your prayers as she prepares to move to Oxhey.

He is risen indeed, Alleluia!
What a wonderful joyful Easter service this morning. We were delighted to welcome The Venerable Jonathan Smith, Archdeacon Emeritus to lead our Easter worship. A service full of light and hope and our church looked beautiful. A huge thank you to all who contributed in so many ways to a fulfilling Lent and Easter. Deo gratis.
