St Helen's Watford

St Helen's Watford A Church of the Catholic Archdiocese of Westminster St Helen's is a Catholic Church in Watford, part of the Archdiocese of Westminster... and so much more!

We are followers of Jesus of Nazareth, nourished by the Eucharist and filled with His Holy Spirit, looking to bring His Kingdom in this world as we show the Father's love in word and deed. Whether you're an early riser, a young family or more into the traditional, we're sure you'll find a Mass that suits you and plenty of social activities to get involved with. Whether you've been a Catholic since

before you were born, or are new to the Church, we hope you feel welcome here - whether it's your first time in a church or if it's been a while since your last time. Our Parish ministries rely on a dedicated team of volunteers who serve in a variety of ways including music, reading, Eucharistic ministry, catechesis, DIY, cleaning and more! Getting involved is a great way to get to know people and get into the community. Please get in touch if you are able to share your skills and time in any way possible. It really is rewarding!

Macmillan Mighty Hike (again)
Yes, I'm doing it again! On July 16th I shall be walking 26 miles along the Thames Path from Windsor to Marlow - hoping for a cooler day this time than last year... Training is going well, up to 22 miles already.

My father has been undergoing cancer treatment for some time now. Dedicated Macmillan Nurses have been with him from Day1 and continue to support him through the latest rounds of treatment, and we are hugely indebted to them for their ongoing support. Please remember him in your prayers.

With the easing of the pandemic Macmillan is looking for every possible avenue to fundraise to support their nurses, who give unstintingly of their time and expertise to assist those with cancer. Statistics tell us that 1 in 2 of us will experience the disease in our lifetime.

Thank you to everyone who sponsored me last time, and I'd like to call on your generosity again this time please, as cancer doesn't stop. And if you didn't sponsor me last time - now's your chanceEmoji Any sponsorship, no matter how small, will be gratefully received. The JustGiving link is below, donations can be Gift Aided.

Thank you so much!

ST PATRICK'S DAY
KEEPING IN TOUCH WITH OUR PARISHIONERS
Members of our Social Committee along with other volunteers put together beautiful 'Afternoon Tea' boxes and delivered them to some of our most vulnerable and isolated parishioners. One of these parishioners described the box as an 'Alladin's Cave' filled with treats. All of this was done in line with COVID restrictions ensuring the safety of the team and the recipients.
Photos are:
1. Blessing of the boxes after St Patrick's Day Mass.
2. The TEAM who made this possible.
3. Some parisioners receiving their boxes.
4. One of the 'Yummy' treats from the boxes
THANK YOU TEAM AND VERY WELL DONE INDEED.
YOU SPREAD JOY AND HOPE WITH THIS

Christian worship has proven to be a very low-risk activity thanks to the measures we've taken and everyone's efforts with distancing and cleaning.
A full Mass schedule continues as normal for the weekend of 9/10 Jan. This will be reviewed depending on numbers.
Even though you can attend Mass at St Helen's, please consider whether you should if you are elderly, shielding or vulnerable in some other way.
