What a busy and enjoyable afternoon at Warton Messy Church we had!
This month’s theme was The Wise and Foolish Builders, based on the parable Jesus told in St Matthew’s Gospel.
Alongside our usual finger-food buffet, everyone enjoyed a variety of fun activities, including making rock buns, painting rocks, and building houses on rock and sand to discover which one would withstand the storm.
After our activities, Shirley shared the message behind the story, reminding us that the strong foundation we need to build our lives upon is Jesus. He is our Rock and will help us through the storms of life.
We then had great fun singing the well-known song The Wise Man Built His House Upon the Rock, with Shirley accompanying us on the guitar.
To finish our afternoon, we celebrated the birthdays of three of our Messy Church children. We all sang “Happy Birthday”, the children blew out the candles, and everyone went home with a piece of delicious birthday cake.
A heartfelt thank you to Shirley for playing the guitar, leading the singing, and bringing our Bible story to life. Thank you also to Donna for organising the food, and to all our wonderful volunteers whose hard work and dedication made the afternoon such a happy and successful one.
We look forward to seeing everyone again at our next Messy Church! ❤️
