⢠Would you like to study the word of God with others?
⢠Are you being consistent at reading the Bible?
⢠Do you desire to be called a disciple of Jesus?
Here is a great summary of our last Bible study captured beautifully by one of the Sisters that attended and lāaster we all enjoyed some Turkish delight from a Brother who just got back from a holiday in Turkey. Come join us; dm for more details.
Summary below:
Bible Study Recap: 1 Timothy 4:1-11
Departing from Faith & Living Authentically (1 Timothy 4:1-3Our Bible study was on 1 Timothy chapter 4. We spoke of not giving way to false truth, some will depart from the cross as the means of salvation and victory. We hold onto God's word. We discussed not pretending to be one way and then being a different person, and getting tired of having a relationship with God.
Abstaining from Foods
(1 Timothy 4:3-4)
We looked at other religious rules some have, such as forbidding pork we know this is not Christianity. We know that all food is from God. Christians will bless their food and it should be received with thanksgiving, as some people sadly are still going hungry.
Nourishing Our Spirit (1Timothy 4:5-8):
We spoke about living in faith and carefully following leaders, encouraging one another, especially our younger leaders and was a pleasure to have Araon as a young leader on half term with is š.
We spoke about looking after ourselves and being accountable to one another, for example, going for walks. More importantly, we nourish our spirits by meeting together, reading the Bible, and meditating on Godās Word because there is power in the Word of God. We will have a new body, but our soul is eternal, so we nourish our spirit and this changes our behaviours through Godās grace. We donāt want to live unhealthfully. The nourished spirit transforms and renews our minds through Godās grace.
We spoke on (1 Timothy 4:8) which teaches that we have work here on earth, which we do gracefully, and we are living for eternity. There will be no more suffering, and we are ageless in the kingdom.
Living in Hope:
We concluded by recognising the importance of mutual encouragement and accountability as we grow together in Christ for Godās glory. šš,
Homework: Please read Mark 10:25 ā It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of Godā (NKJV).
