What an absolute joy it was to welcome 40+ children to St John’s for another epic week of fun, games, slime (lots of it!) and the opportunity to hear about Jesus.

With singing, drama, crafts and more… there was never a dull moment. It was hot but the kids found ways of using the water games to their advantage while the adults put up with all the slime!

Behind every game, craft, song and conversation was something much bigger. The opportunity for children to hear about Jesus, to know that they are loved by him and to experience that love through the encouragement and care of those around them.

We may not see where the seeds planted this week will grow, but we trust God with each one.

And as for all the fantastic volunteers who make holiday club happen - THANK YOU - You’re all AMAZING! 🤩

Please pray for all the children and families we’ve welcomed, that what they have heard and experienced this week might stay with them long after Holiday Club has finished.

A wonderful weekend of celebration!

Yesterday some of us joined Kirsty at the Cathedral for her Priesting then today it was the turn of the Deacons. Phil who spent some time with us as an Ordinand became a Rev.

She didn’t plan it… But ending up on the children’s teaching rota opened the door to something new for Dinusha. Sometimes God nudges us into the very place we’re meant to be.

What a wonderful afternoon as we launched Flourish, with nearly 40 women gathering to enjoy sandwiches, scones, fabulous cake and most importantly, one another’s company.

This new venture stands on the faithful legacy of the Mothers’ Union, generations of women committed to prayer, service and fellowship and it was so special to begin something new while honouring all that has gone before.

Moments like these remind us just how important connection and community are. There's real strength in gathering together, sharing life and encouraging one another in faith and we're already looking forward to more gatherings and events in the near future.
