Hello everyone I would like to welcome you to our page 'Friends of Meadow'.
This page is to raise awareness about the legal rights to grave ownership on a Babies, Child and young Adults grave and to share the Families story about the lack of support and cover up that has taken place between external agencies and Meadows Father over Meadows Mothers rights to her Babies grave.
In 2014 Baby Meadow passed away from a serious heart condition (hlhs) at the age of 4 months. Meadow was in Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital for the whole of her short 4 months of life, where she underwent several open heart surgeries and numerous complications where she suffered multi organ failure, fractured ribs and a bleed on the brain. Meadow managed to pull through and was sent from CICU to HDU where Doctors were hopeful that she would soon be ready to go home, but Meadow unexpectedly took a turn for the worst and suffered several cardiac arrests before passing away on the 29th August 2014.
Meadow was laid in her forever resting place over Cheshunt Cemetery, Hertfordshire. The cemetery is run by Broxbourne Council however it turns out the burial deeds are in Meadows Fathers sole name despite both parents names being on the birth and death certificate. Meadows Mother and Family found this out in 2021 when they contacted the council to ask why the Mothers name was not on the deeds. The Council have refused to put Meadows Mothers name on the deeds without the Fathers permission which he is refusing to give despite being contacted by the Council on numerous occasions.
Meadows Family are fighting to raise awareness for the law to be changed past and present on the deeds of any Baby, Child and young Adult to have both Parents/Guardian jointly named on the burial deeds.
