On Holocaust Remembrance Day, we pause to honor the six million Jewish men, women, and children whose lives were tragically stolen during the Holocaust. We remember the atrocities that took place, the untold suffering, and the countless lives forever impacted by this dark chapter in history.
As a church, we stand united in prayer, not only to remember those who perished, but to also commit ourselves to ensuring that such hatred, prejudice, and violence are never again allowed to take root in our world. We reflect on the lessons of the past and seek to embody the compassion, empathy, and justice that Christ calls us to live out each day.
Today, we light a candle in memory of those lost, a symbol of hope and the light that continues to shine in the face of darkness. May we never forget the power of love, unity, and faith in the face of suffering, and may we continue to work towards a world where all people are treated with dignity, respect, and kindness.
Let us also remember that the pain and suffering of the Holocaust were not isolated. Around the world today, countless people continue to face oppression, hatred, and violence. As a community, we are called to stand in solidarity with the vulnerable and marginalized, to speak out against injustice, and to be agents of peace.
We pray for healing, for hope, and for the strength to always be voices for truth, love, and compassion.
Never forget. Never again.
With love to all - LVC & CAAA π€ποΈ
