🙏 Could you join our Church Council (PCC)?

We are currently looking for people to step into vital roles within our Christian community, with a particular need for new Church Council (PCC) members.

The council plays a crucial part in supporting our daily operations, mission, and ministry. No prior experience is necessary! What we value most is a passion for our faith, a willingness to serve, and a commitment to the well-being of our congregation.

We are also seeking nominations for Churchwardens to help care for our church community and building.

📣 St Matthew’s has been awarded a £9,850 Science & Faith Grant!

We are thrilled to announce that St Matthew’s has been selected as one of only 15 churches in the UK to receive a Scientists in Congregations grant for 2026-27.

Our project, Embodied Faith: How Does God Meet Us in Body?, will be exploring the fascinating link between our physical bodies and our spiritual lives over the coming year - looking at how things like prayer and worship actually affect us physiologically.

What to expect:
A "Living Lab": Interactive sessions exploring how our bodies respond to prayer.
Public Talks: Engaging discussions on well-being, science, and vocation.
Community Events: Opportunities for the whole of Walsall to join the conversation.

This is a wonderful chance to affirm the many healthcare and science professionals in our own church family and to show that science and faith can beautifully enrich one another.
