This is the first session in our series themed Purposeful Living for Divine Manifestation. The series is aimed at helping us to explore the many dimensions of living purposefully as we consider the lives of some Biblical characters. Divine manifestation is not merely experiencing God’s power; it is God’s intention, character, gifts, glory and purposes becoming visible through a yielded human life. This session is a focus on gaining understanding of what it takes to live in the fulfilment of God’s purpose for one’s life. Jesus is the supreme example of a life whose identity, decisions, relationships, priorities, suffering and ultimate sacrifice were governed by divine purpose. His earthly life teaches us that purposeful living begins by answering three questions: who sent me? why am I here and what must I finish? As we study His earthly life we see that His Purpose preceded His birth, He developed before He manifested, knew why He had come, refused distractions from purpose, lived in constant alignment with the Father, lived sacrificially and finished His work. To live to fulfil our God-given purpose, therefore, we must continue to look unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith.
