This Holy Week, we invite you to experience the ancient and deeply moving service of Tenebrae led by a gathered choir with organ, on Good Friday at 12 Noon.

Through scripture, music, and the gradual extinguishing of candles, we will reflect on Christ's Passion and the gathering shadow of the cross, even as we watch and wait with quiet hope.

All are welcome to join us for the last days of Holy Week at St Hilary's.

You are warmly invited to join us at St Hillary's for our Ash Wednesday service at 10am on Wednesday, February 18.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent — a season of reflection, prayer, and preparation for Easter. In this simple, reflective service we will hear Scripture, pray together, and receive the imposition of ashes, marking the cross on our foreheads as a sign of repentance, humility, and our need for God’s renewing grace.

Whether you are a regular worshipper or simply curious, all are welcome. Come as you are and begin Lent with us in quiet prayer and fellowship.

✿ “At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
we will remember them.” ✿

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Remembrance Sunday services.

It was a privilege to stand together at the War Memorial — to remember, to honour, and to pray for peace.

In the evening, our Choral Evensong was a moving conclusion to the day. We’re so grateful to Andrew and the choir — singers from across the Wirral, many with long and happy connections to St Hilary’s — for leading us so beautifully in worship.

After the Act of Remembrance at the War Memorial on the beach in the morning, all are warmly invited to return in the evening (6:30pm) for Choral Evensong at St Hilary’s.

This will be a beautiful service of music, prayer, and thanksgiving — giving thanks for peace, honouring those who gave their lives, and entrusting the world to God’s care.

The choir is made up of singers from across the Wirral, many of whom have sung as members of St Hilary’s choir in the past. Our organist, Glyn, served for many years as Director of Music here, and Andrew, our choirmaster, has enjoyed a long association with St Hilary’s both as organist and as a member of the congregation.

Everyone is warmly welcome. ❁

🔥 What a fantastic night! 🔥🍔🌭🎇

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the St Hilary’s BBQ & Bonfire at the Rectory last night! Over 50 of us came together for food, laughter, and worship under the stars (and a few clouds!).

The BBQ was delicious, the fire was warm, and the fellowship even warmer. It was lovely to see both familiar faces and new ones joining in — a real sign of our growing community here at St Hilary’s.

Thank you to everyone who helped with cooking, setup, music, and making the evening so special. Let’s do it again soon!
