Fundraising Event to provide Ugandan girls with sanitary towels

There will be African dishes and Ugandan-style music and dance!

Why? In Uganda, many girls miss up to 20% of the school year simply because they cannot afford sanitary pads, leading many to drop out entirely. Providing sanitary wear increases school attendance by up to 5 days a month per girl. Traditional disposable pads are often a luxury; many girls are forced to use old rags, papers, which causes infections and deep embarrassment.

Supporting these young girls with one reusable pad at a time. Approximately £5 to £8 can provide a girl with a pack of 5 reusable pads that last for 12–18 months, meaning a single donation keeps a girl in school for over a year without the need for monthly refills.

The Fundraising Event: Is aimed at raising funds to buy packs of reusable towels for young girls in Buwanume Primary school in Uganda who struggle to attend school when that time of the month comes around.

Whether you've been 100 times or never before, we would be thrilled for you to join us on Sunday at 10.30am.

We are a very friendly, very welcoming, and very international church. The reason we have so many flags up around our building is because we are made up of people from nations across the planet – England, France, Nigeria, Wales, the Falkland Islands, Uganda, South Africa, America and more.

Give us a try on Sunday!

The celebration meeting starts at 10.30 and ends at around 12. There is tea and coffee afterwards, and groups for our young people, whether they're 3 or 13.

Rather than working through a particular book of the Bible – which we've just done with Hebrews – we're going to be looking at the essential truths of what it means to be a Christian.

These messages aren't just for new Christians or the curious – they're for everyone. We all need reminding from time to time about the basics of our faith.

Dave got us started on Sunday with "Strong Foundations": How Christians are built to withstand the pressures of life.

Newday is an amazing week and we don't want anybody to miss out on the opportunity of going because of money – hence the sponsored events like this, Supercake Sunday and the Quiz Night.

It's the Jubilee Church Wirral Quiz Night TONIGHT!

It's not too late to enter and you can just pay on the door.

Remember: this is a quiz for EVERYONE.

– There will be questions that under-10s can answer
– There will be questions that over-70s can answer
– There will be questions that anyone in between can answer
– But there will be no Bible questions. This is a church quiz night, not a churchy quiz.

Secondly, there will be prizes – and not just for the winning team.

Everyone who comes on the night will be entered into a draw to win prizes that have been donated by local businesses including:
– Bistro 115 in New Brighton
– Bake My Day in Upton
– Krugers Jewellers in Wallasey
– Riverside Bowl in New Brighton
– The Derby Pool in Wallasey
