This stopped me in my tracks today... 📖✨

I was studying my Bible this afternoon and 1 Peter 1:8-9 absolutely jumped off the page at me. It says:

"You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls." (NLT)

It’s such a powerful reminder that even when we can’t "see" the way forward or physically see God working, our trust isn't for nothing. There is a deep, "inexpressible" joy that comes simply from leaning into Him.

Whatever you’re walking through today, I hope you feel that joy and remember that your trust has a reward.

How has God shown up for you lately, even in the "unseen" moments? Let’s encourage each other in the comments! 👇

From the Pews to the Pavement: The 1937 Parker Pulpit Bible Joins the Trenches
At COPE Ministry, we often say that "Nobody is too far gone." Usually, we’re talking about people—the forgotten, the addicted, and the broken. But sometimes, a physical object carries a story of restoration that mirrors our own.

We are humbled to announce a new addition to our outreach mission: a 1937 edition of Dr. Joseph Parker’s "The Pulpit Bible." # # # A Heavyweight History This isn’t your average pocket Bible. Weighing in at approximately 3.5kg (7.7 lbs), this massive hardcover was published nearly 90 years ago by Hodder & Stoughton in London and Galloway & Porter in Cambridge.

The "Parker Bible" is legendary in Christian circles. Dr. Joseph Parker was one of the 19th century's most brilliant preachers, known for his "incisive comments" and ability to make the Word of God feel alive and urgent. This specific 1937 re-issue was financed by a layman named C.H. Wilkinson, who believed so strongly in Parker’s work that he funded its return to print so that "the searcher after truth... shall seek and find."

The Wilkinson Legacy: A Memorial Becomes a Lifeline
Inside the front cover lies a poignant dedication:

"The Gift of the Late Charles H. Wilkinson, Cambridge, 1937."

For almost a century, this Bible likely sat in a place of honor, perhaps in a quiet chapel or a family library, serving as a memorial to a life ended. But in February 2026, its journey took a "radical encounter" toward a new purpose.

Acquired from a vintage bookroom in Braintree and brought home to Wakefield, this Bible has been "recommissioned." We believe that just as this book was preserved through the decades, the lives we encounter on the streets are being preserved for a greater purpose.

Why a "Pulpit Bible" for the Streets?
A Pulpit Bible is usually kept safe, dry, and locked behind church doors. But at COPE, we follow the NO F.E.A.R. framework:

F – Faith-Driven: Relying on the Spirit to move hearts.

E – Evangelism: Carrying the Good News to the broken.

A – Action on the Streets: Moving from the pews to the pavement.

R – Redemption through Jesus: Proving no one is "too far gone."

By taking this "Voice from the Trenches" out into the shadows of addiction and homelessness, we are making a statement: The weight and authority of the Gospel belong where the pain is greatest.

A Stewardship Vow
Fin Dalton, our founder, knows what it means to be "rebuilt by faith" after a 33-year battle with addiction. To him, this Bible is a physical reminder that Hope is a Person (Jesus Christ).

As we carry this 1937 treasure into the communities of West Yorkshire, we do so with a prayer: May these pages be a light in the darkness of addiction and a compass for the lost. May it shatter chains and bring forth a harvest of redemption.

What was once a memorial for one is now a lifeline for many.

Finding Faith, Moving Without Fear in Wakefield 🕊️
COPE Ministry, we don’t just talk about change—we step out into the streets of Wakefield and West Yorkshire to be the change.
Our mission is guided by a specific mission we call the

NO F.E.A.R. Framework.

Here is how we serve:

F — Faith-Driven: We don’t move by world statistics; we move by the Spirit. We believe God is already at work in the hearts of those we meet.

E — Evangelism: We are not silent. We carry the Good News as a light into dark places, believing the Word has the power to shatter chains.

A — Action on the Streets: We are the hands and feet of Jesus. We don’t wait for people to come to us; we go to them with a warm meal, a hot drink, and a listening ear.

R — Redemption through Jesus Christ: Our "Unwavering Compass." We believe no life is beyond repair and no soul is too far gone.

We meet people exactly where they are—without judgment—offering grace, prayer, and practical support to help everyone realize their God-given potential.

“I’ve yet to find someone who wakes up one morning and says, ‘I want to be homeless, an alcoholic, or a junkie.’”

Behind every person struggling on our streets is a story, a deep-seated reason for their demise, and a soul in need of hope. Most see a struggle; through C.O.P.E. (Christian Outreach Programme Evangelism), I see a harvest field.

A sandwich feeds a man for a day, but the Gospel saves him for eternity. 🕊️

On the Fin Dalton Blog, I’m sharing the stories of resilience, the power of testimony, and the radical truth that no matter how far you’ve fallen, Jesus is ready to save you. If He could do it for me, He can do it for anyone.
