Jamia Masjid Swafia Jamia Masjid Swafia is located on Park Hill Lane off Park Lodge Lane Eastmoor, Wakefield. It is the largest Sunni Hanfi Masjid in Wakefield.

The Masjid is the focal point within the Muslim community and the hub of religious activity, not just within Eastmoor, but also, for the whole of the Wakefield. The Masjid, apart from the five daily prayers, is utilised for religious celebrations, lectures, national conferences, community and educational purposes. The Messenger of Allah, Sal'Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, stressed the importance on visi

ting the Masjid frequently. Abu Hurairah, a Companion of the Prophet, relates that: The Messenger of Allah, Sal'Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said, "For him who proceeds to the Masjid morning or evening, Allah prepares entertainment in Paradise every time he proceeds, morning of evening."[Sahih Bukhari & Muslim]

What an incredible Sunday! Our annual summer fair was blessed with fantastic weather, a brilliant atmosphere and an amazing turnout from our community.

We’re absolutely delighted to announce that, together, we raised an incredible £16,000! Every penny will go towards the New Masjid Project, helping us take another important step towards building a lasting legacy for generations to come.

New Masjid Project Update 24/08/26

Alhamdulillah, another important milestone has been reached in the New Masjid Project!

All the glass in the windows has now been fitted, and apart from a few finishing touches, the external works are almost complete!

Inside the Masjid, the underfloor heating and screed have been completed and work has now begun on the first-fix electrical and plumbing installations.

It’s incredible to see the building continuing to take shape, and we’re grateful to Allah ﷻ for allowing the project to reach this stage. We also extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported the project so far.

But there is still a lot of work to be done. The journey is not over yet, and we need your continued support to help us bring this Masjid to completion.

Every donation makes a difference. Whether it’s £5, £50, £500 or more, no donation is too big or too small. Every contribution brings us one step closer to completing this Sadaqah Jariyah project for our community and future generations, In'sha’Allah.

We were honoured to welcome renowned Na'at Khawan Khadim Hussain Naqshbandi to Jamia Masjid Swafia on Tuesday.

During his visit, he toured our New Masjid Project and graciously gave his heartfelt du'as and blessings for its success. We are deeply grateful for his kind words and support, and we pray that Allah ﷻ accepts this project and makes it a source of benefit for generations to come.

Alhamdulillah, another productive week of progress on our new Masjid project!

We're pleased to share that the underfloor heating on the ground floor has now been fully installed and the screeding has been completed this week. Work has also continued on the finishing touches to the roof, bringing us another step closer to completion.

Every milestone is only possible through the mercy of Allah ﷻ and the continued generosity, duas, and support of our community.

May Allah accept everyone's contributions, bless all those who have supported this project, and reward you abundantly in this life and the Hereafter. Ameen.
