Jamia Masjid Swafia Jamia Masjid Swafia is located on Park Hill Lane off Park Lodge Lane Eastmoor, Wakefield. It is the largest Sunni Hanfi Masjid in Wakefield.

The Masjid is the focal point within the Muslim community and the hub of religious activity, not just within Eastmoor, but also, for the whole of the Wakefield. The Masjid, apart from the five daily prayers, is utilised for religious celebrations, lectures, national conferences, community and educational purposes. The Messenger of Allah, Sal'Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, stressed the importance on visi

ting the Masjid frequently. Abu Hurairah, a Companion of the Prophet, relates that: The Messenger of Allah, Sal'Allahu Alayhi Wa Sallam, said, "For him who proceeds to the Masjid morning or evening, Allah prepares entertainment in Paradise every time he proceeds, morning of evening."[Sahih Bukhari & Muslim]

Alhamdulillah, yesterday’s Jamia Masjid Swafia Car Wash & BBQ was a huge success! 🚗🔥🍔

Thanks to the incredible generosity and support from our community, we are proud to share that an amazing *£3,600* was raised towards the New Masjid Project.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, attended and showed their support throughout the day. Special appreciation goes to all of our dedicated volunteers who worked tirelessly from start to finish - your hard work, energy, and commitment made this event possible.

Events like these truly show the strength, unity and spirit of our community. Together, we are building more than just a Masjid - we are building a legacy for future generations, Insha’Allah.

Just a quick reminder about our Fundraising Car Wash and BBQ at Jamia Masjid Swafia tomorrow - Sunday 24 May, in aid of the New Masjid Project. The Car Wash will be open from 9am until 7pm with the BBQ starting around 12pm.

Alhamdulillah, more great progress is being made on the new Masjid Project at Jamia Masjid Swafia!

Over the past few days, additional windows have been delivered and successfully installed, bringing the building one step closer to completion. It is amazing to see the Masjid taking shape day by day.

Work on the roof is also coming along nicely, with the weatherproof rubber now being installed to help protect the structure and prepare for the next stages of development. Every week brings visible progress, and we are truly grateful to everyone who has supported this blessed project so far.

While we are excited about how far we’ve come, there is still a long way to go. We kindly request all brothers, sisters, families, and supporters to continue donating and helping in any way possible. Every contribution, big or small, plays a part in building a house of Allah for generations to come.

May AAllah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala reward all those who have donated, supported and made dua for this project. Please continue to keep this project in your prayers and share this post to help spread the message.

Eid Salah times will be as follows:

First Jamaat: 6:30am
Qazi Fayyaz Mehmood

Second Jamaat: 9.00am
Hafiz Ahsan Bashir

Third Jamaat: 10.00am
Hafiz Muhammad Abdul Qadir Naushahi

Please arrive 15 minutes early to benefit from the talk.

Can we please request that all local residents walk to the Masjid as per the sunnah. Anyone travelling by car, please car share and please park sensibly without disturbing our neighbours. Please DO NOT block any footpaths or driveways.

Alhamdulillah the first of the windows arrived on site today and installation is now officially underway. A major milestone that’s bringing the vision closer to reality and you can already see the transformation beginning to take shape.

It’s inspiring to witness the hard work and dedication turning plans into progress. Exciting times ahead for the community and this is only the beginning.

New Masjid Construction Update:
18/05/26

Alhamdulillah! We are delighted to share another major milestone in the Jamia Masjid Swafia new Masjid project - all of the brickwork has now officially been completed, with the final bricks laid last week!

This is a huge step forward for the project and a moment for the whole community to feel proud of. The roof installation is now underway, and we are also expecting the windows and doors to arrive this week for fitting, bringing us even closer to seeing the vision become a reality.

None of this would have been possible without the incredible generosity, duas, and continued support of our community. Every donation, big or small, has helped us reach this stage, and we pray Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala rewards every contributor abundantly.

While we celebrate this achievement, there is still a long way to go before completion. We kindly encourage everyone to continue supporting the project and helping us build a lasting house of worship for future generations.

Together, we are building more than just a Mosque - we are building a legacy for our community and our children.
