Andrea Dieci Returns to Veryan

We're delighted to welcome classical guitarist Andrea Dieci back to Veryan Church, on Saturday 4th July as part of the KCA International Guitar Series.

Although his career has taken him all over the world, Andrea remains a regular visitor to Cornwall and has performed here many times over the years.

For his return to Veryan, Andrea is preparing a new programme featuring music by Bach, Granados, Ponce, Sor and Villa-Lobos.

With her clear, expressive guitar playing and distinctive voice, Katie brings a fresh take on contemporary folk. She’ll be performing songs from her acclaimed new album, What Is Love, alongside favourites from her growing catalogue.

A reminder that next Sunday there will be no service at Veryan, as we’ll be joining together with our neighbouring churches across the Benefice for a special day of celebration at St Cuby’s Church, Tregony.

The afternoon begins at 3.15pm with a short act of worship and welcome before workshops and supper together.

Please see the poster below for full details.

If you would like to join us for supper, please pop me or Zoe a message so we have an idea of numbers.

And if you can’t join us for the afternoon, perhaps we’ll see you for the celebratory service at 7pm with the Rt Revd David Williams, Bishop of Truro.

Our old stone building stays beautifully cool (and slightly drafty!) even on the hottest days, so if you or someone you know is struggling with the heat, remember that the church is open every day from 10am–4pm.

Bring a book, bring a friend, sit quietly, have a rest …… stay all day if you’d like! The space is here for everyone.

And for families, our new children’s corner is a lovely cool spot for little ones to play for a while too.

Furry friends are welcome as well. 🐾

The annual Blessing of the Sea will take place at Portloe Harbour on Monday 18th May at 7pm.

A lovely village tradition and a special evening down on the harbour.

Join us at 7pm for an evening of choral music performed by the choir, with Kevin Lane conducting and Ian Wass at the organ. Refreshments will be available, and donations are warmly welcomed.
