Why not ask some questions....

Many people come to the end of the summer with questions emerging “what’s next for me?” or “what more might I be doing with my life?” On Thursday 10 September, 7pm – 9pm we are hosting an online session that will offer some time and space to land those questions, along with some practices and tools for discernment to help you attune to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

The session will be led by Samantha Stayte, Vocations Development Officer for the Diocese and Associate DDO, and Joel Love, DDO. They both have a deep interest in accompanying others on the journey of discovering the joy of recognising God’s call in our lives.

The flower team have been busy! It's not too late to come and see the wonderful displays - open till 4pm today. Or/and... Come to church and worship with us among the flowers tomorrow at 10am. These are our ice cream sundaes (ys) so after worship we all enjoy ice cream! Do come and join us... all welcome...

Let us pray...

Creator and loving God,

We pray for all people, creatures, and the natural world suffering in this time of extreme heat and wildfires. We remember communities living with the devastation of fires, those who have lost homes or been displaced, and all who face fear, loss, and uncertainty.

We give thanks for the courage and dedication of firefighters, mountain rescue teams, emergency services, land managers, and volunteers who work in dangerous conditions to protect lives, homes, wildlife, and your creation. Keep them safe, strengthen them when they are weary, and grant them wisdom in all they do.

We are sorry for the ways we have contributed to the changing climate. Have mercy on us, and help us to be the people your earth needs us to be living with wisdom, care, and hope.

Bring healing to the land that has been scarred, comfort to those who grieve, and renewal to all creation.

Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
