THE EAGLES HAVE LANDED

Sheffield Eagles RLFC have relocated to Dronfield to share Sheffield FC’s base – the MEPS International Home of Football Stadium, formerly the Coach & Horses ground.
The professional rugby league club said the move to the 2,000-capacity stadium represents a major step forward for the Eagles.
Pictured familiarising themselves with their new surroundings in Dronfield are players Martin Reilly (left) and Josh Hodson (right), with commercial director Mark Hannigan and head coach Craig Lingard.

FOUR PEAKS CHALLENGE RETURNS

After its success in 2025, the Dronfield Four Peaks Community Walk is back this summer and promises the opportunity to meet new people and explore the area’s beautiful countryside.
Organised by Life Dronfield, in partnership with Dronfield Eye, and inspired by the notorious Yorkshire Three Peaks, 12-mile circular route around S18 will this year be held on Saturday, 25th July, starting out from Hilltop at 11am.
Participants can complete as much or as little of the challenge as they like. There is no pressure to do the whole route or keep up with the walk leader.
Walkers are encouraged to raise funds for Life Dronfield through sponsorship. Paper sponsorship forms and JustGiving team invites are available.

NESTING BIRDS LIVE-STREAMED EXPERIENCE

Live footage is now available from two new nest box cameras monitoring blue tit and pied flycatcher nests located in the woodlands of the National Trust’s Longshaw Estate in the Peak District.
The live stream, available on the National Trust’s YouTube channel, and part of the charity’s ‘Window to the Wild’ live streaming nature project, offers a rare birdwatching experience that can be enjoyed from anywhere. The cameras will stream everyday moments from the nests as the birds start to raise their families.
