🍞🍷SATURDAY 7pm🍷🍞

Everyone is welcome to join us this evening at 7pm for the first of our communion weekend services with Rev. Andy Longwe. Andy will be preaching from Romans 5:1-11 over the weekend, with the first instalment entitled: ‘Our Standing: The Joy of Being Justified.’

After the service we will enjoy informal fellowship with tea coffee and treats. Andy will share some personal testimony of his faith, and an insight into his ministry in our nation’s capital.

As we gather for communion services this weekend we pray that the Lord would indeed speak to us through Andy’s preaching of the Word.

Service schedule:

Saturday - 7pm followed by informal fellowship and personal testimony from Andy.

Sunday 11am - The Lord’s Supper

Congregational lunch

Sunday 3pm - Service of Thanksgiving.

If anyone wishes to profess their faith in Jesus as Lord for the first time, join the visible membership of the church, and join the Lord’s people at His table, please speak to Lachie or any of the Elders.

THE ENGINE ROOM

This week in our Psalms of Ascents series, we come to Psalm 128, a beautiful picture of the blessed life. The Psalm begins with a simple foundation: "Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in his ways." From there it moves into the ordinary blessings of work, home and family, before widening our vision towards the blessing of God's people and the prayer, "Peace be on Israel!" We will consider what it really means to live a blessed life — not as a promise of an easy or trouble-free existence, but as the joy of living under God's good rule, receiving his gifts with gratitude, using them to bless others, and ultimately enjoying the greatest blessing of all: peace with God through Jesus Christ.

Join us at 7pm, through the main door, as we pray, praise and ponder God's word together.

As we continue our sermon series, Encounters with Jesus, we come to one of the most moving scenes in the Gospels. Jesus encounters a widow making her way to bury her only son. Jesus sees her, is moved with compassion, stops the funeral procession and speaks life into the dead. This remarkable miracle reveals not only Christ’s power over death but also His deep compassion for those who grieve. Join us on Sunday at 11am to find out more.

Sunday School is back this week after the summer break. Creche is also available for the little people.

Tea and Coffee will be served after the service.

At 3pm in Achiltibuie and 6pm in Ullapool, we are continuing our Fact Check series in Hebrews 11; this week we come to one of the most challenging names in the list: Jephthah. His story is one of the more difficult accounts in Judges: a rejected man who became a courageous leader, trusted God for victory, yet also made a rash and tragic vow. What can we learn from such a complicated character? As we explore Judges 10–12, we will see that genuine faith remembers God's faithfulness, trusts His power and steps forward in obedience—but it must always be governed by God's Word. Above all, Jephthah's story reminds us that our hope is not found in perfect people or perfect faith, but in a perfectly faithful God and a perfect Saviour, Jesus Christ.

This week in our Psalms of Ascents series, we come to Psalm 127, a timely reminder that while we are called to work faithfully, plan wisely and take responsibility, we must never imagine that everything ultimately depends upon us. "Unless the LORD builds the house, the builders labour in vain" speaks into our work, our homes, our families, our responsibilities and even our restless attempts to secure the future. At the heart of the Psalm is the liberating truth that we are not the ones holding everything together — God is.
