DOORS OPEN DAY
Sunday 13th September is Doors Open Day and St Ninian’s is taking part.

All are welcome at any time throughout the day on the 13th September.

10.30 - 11.40 - Experience an interactive service in the Scottish Episcopal tradition.

11.40 - 12.30 - Tea, Coffee and Cake under the famous Troon Wall Hanging.

12.30 - 16.30 - Self guided tours of the church, with people on hand to support with any questions about the church's history, present and future plans. Also a chance to play the church organ and other activities.

Outing to The Dick Institute to see the Two Roberts Exhibition

St Ninian's Book Club are planning to meet at The Dick Institute in Kilmarnock to view The Two Roberts Exhibition on Tuesday 29th September at 1pm. This is not an organised trip, just friends meeting to look around the exhibition at their leisure. If anyone would to join us, you would be very welcome, but you would need to make your own transport arrangements.
Robert Colquhoun from Kilmarnock and Robert MacBryde from Maybole met at The Glasgow School of Art in 1933 and became lifelong partners and artistic collaborators. There will be over 100 paintings and drawings of their work on display. Some of us have recently read the book entitled The Two Roberts by Damian Barr.

Join the Diocesan Environment Group for an opportunity in the Season of Creation to help make our churches more eco-friendly. Whether you’re a green thumb or just curious, this event is all about caring for creation and sharing ideas on how to live more sustainably together. Let’s get inspired, hearing what other churches are doing and think about how we can make a positive impact on our community and planet.
We will be focussing on biodiversity, church and community gardens. Listening to local and church eco-groups sharing their journey and how we might do something in our own contexts.

🏖️ Messy Church on the Beach! 🎨

Messy Church Troon, in partnership with Troon Churches Together, is heading to the beach for an afternoon of crafts, activities, fun and fellowship!

📅 Friday 14th August
⏰ 12 noon–2:00pm
📍 Troon Beach

Children of all ages and their families are very welcome to come along and join the fun. Please remember to bring a packed lunch with you. 🥪

Of course, the Scottish weather may have other ideas! If the weather is poor, the event will take place indoors at St Meddans Halls instead.

We would love to see you there so bring the family, your lunch and hopefully some sunshine! ☀️

A date for the diary - Sunday 13th September.

This year St Ninian’s will take part in Doors Open Days, Scotland’s largest free festival that celebrates places and stories, new and old.

All are welcome at any time throughout the day on the 13th September.

We are excited that Troon Church of Scotland Girls Brigade are keen to take part in the Church community garden. They will take on one of the beds when they start back in September and do other things in the garden too, as we develop this venture.

Meanwhile, we have lots of kale plants that need thinning out. If anyone would like some for their own garden, please speak to Janet.

It would be good to share them and find them new homes. This is an ideal time of year to plant them out in order to have kale for the winter months. I planted some out in the community garden today and also took some home to plant out.

The St Ninian's community garden is open to all, you don't need to be a member of the Church to use it. You are welcome to come for a look or to do some gardening and plant things. We especially plan to grow food which is a good thing in so many ways.
